Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Four of us did the tour with Brian today , my sister and I were both born in Liverpool but we learned so much from Brian about our home city . We are so happy that the tours are coming back and the fact that they are mixing the history and architecture of the city with the art that is on display is a perfect combination .
Brian is so knowledgable about the architects who designed and built our city , and he made us consider questions about Liverpool that we had never thought of before . You can tell he is from Liverpool and that made the tour even more special .
He brought us photographs of the way the city used to look in the past to compare them side by side with how the buildings look now which was a wonderful perspective .
We forget what an important city Liverpool always was in global trade , shipping , commerce and banking and Brian reminded us of those facts and how the designs on buildings reflected the purpose of the business that was conducted in each one , and also the variations of the dates the buildings were built .
I would sincerely recommend that all Scousers and visitors take these tours and learn as much as we did about the best city in the world
Thanks so much Brian We will be back soon

Recently did the Gateway to the World Tour with Bill from RIBA. This was an excellent insight into the history of some of Liverpool's iconic buildings. Well presented, interesting, lots of background and thoroughly enjoyable even to 3 locals ! We were all surprised at details of we hadn't noticed despite walking around the city for years. Highly recommended

Today we have been on the city of culture, learning and faiths 2 hour walking tour. I would recommend this to anybody, enjoyable from start to finish, although we are both from Liverpool and know are city well, our tour guide Catherine taught us many interesting facts we did not know. Catherine made our tour interesting, and had very good knowledge, a big thank you to her, and RIBA tours itself, thank you to you all, carol and peter x

Great little gem in the docks. Very informative and great staff. It’s a little more niche than your usually tourist stuff in Liverpool but don’t let that put you off.

We are 2 couples in our early 60’s and had a bespoke RIBA tour . Stella took us around pier head and Anne the library and St George’s hall . It was a fascinating 3 hours Both guides were enthusiastic and informative . We learnt so much about Liverpool . We will come again for another tour . Highly recommended .

I like coming here when visiting Liverpool, this time I wanted to have a look at the Forest of Fabrication exhibition. The exhibition was interesting but it's range could have been a lot wider. The gallery assistant was delightful, very friendly and helpful.
There is a small shop downstairs, with a nice selection of journals and books.
The cafe is worth visiting if, like me, you despair about the dearth of decent places to eat in the city. It's small but has a lovely peaceful atmosphere with a small but thoughtful selection of food. The young man who served me was very pleasant and friendly.
All in all a very relaxing visit.

As with previous RIBA walks, this was informative and entertaining. Anne is an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and clearly spoken, which was especially helpful to the member of our group who is hearing impaired.
However well we think we know our local city, we always learn something new and find unexpected hidden gems. The tour takes in the area’s impressive architecture and also its rich social history.

Hello ! :)
I am Ludivine, a licensed tour guide from France traveling to Liverpool for the 1st time. Th "Gateway To the World" tour sounds amazing! A few questions: is there a discount/free admissions for tour guides and how "elaborate" is the architecture vocabulary?
thanx in advance,
Cheers,
Ludivine.

Ours was sculpture, culture and civic pride. Not a lot of walking just around St George's hall and library area.

I have booked a two day stay in Liverpool in early October. How can I reserve a place on a RIBA tour of the Georgian Quarter, please? Not my first trip but on a previous visit, long ago, I was hurried along by my Liverpudlian friends who had no interest then in "these old slum places". How times have changed!

Call the central Tourist Information Centre, you can book thru them. Very interesting tour with lots of historical tour, well worth booking so many hidden buildings to find in Liverpool.
