Completed in 1978 this is the largest Anglican cathedral in Europe. Inside, the lack of adornments only adds to vastness of the "great space." A combination of elevator and stairs takes visitors to the exterior heights of the tower and some grand views of the city and landscapes below. A small fee is required for the vista experience.

We visited Liverpool for a night away and visited the cathedral on Sunday. Knew it would be impressive but wow what a place! Take the tour up the tower for a fiver it's well worth it! The belfry is terrifying but awesome and the view from the top of the tower is immense! Well worth a go!

Remembered being taken here on a school trip when I was 10 - many years ago now! Forgot just how big it was and how amazing the stained glass is. Impressed by the Tracey Emin installation and the friendliness of the guides. One even helped me find the little mouse!

Free entry although donations requested. Lots to see. Stunning inside because of the sheer size. Fascinating.

There is so much to see at the Anglican Cathdral. An enormous space inside. Try to collar a guide for better information.

This beautiful iconic cathedral with its fantastic architecture stands on a site with a view over the city. Historic, peaceful, this is a must do for any visitors to the city.

I live just outside of Liverpool and have even visit the Anglican cathedral as a child but you only realise the true beauty and brilliance of it when you're old enough to appreciate it! Upon going inside, you instantly feel at one with a different force, the engineering behind this magnificent building is something to enjoy before you even get... More

You wouldn't be able to tell that this was built from 1900-1978, it really does look ancient! Informative boards and free admission, helpful staff and a peaceful atmosphere - it is somewhere to reflect and take in the size of the place! Has no real garden grounds though and is quite hard to find, near an industrial estate. But good... More

This place is HUGE and well worth a visit. We were lucky to visit on a sunny day and benefit from the glorious stained glass windows. It has a coffee bar which is very welcoming after doing the rounds of the sights. Enjoyable visit
