A former school tucked away in the city center. One of the oldest and most attractive buildings in Liverpool now plays host to contemporary art and performance displays. The rear secret garden is a tranquil, picturesque place to take a breather from the surrounding hubbub.

A Blast from the past with a Modern Edge

Nice cafes and eating areas with a few interesting shops selling unusual items and gift ideas but retaining it's original features from the 1910,s

Firstly, the upstairs bistro was closed which meant meals and drinks were served downstairs in the cafe. I waited at the counter whilst the 3 staff members finished their conversation for a minute... Turn left as you walk down the main shopping street, before Burton's. Not so cheap Cafè, but worth it, a courtyard garden and a short cut to Liverpool One through it.

Amongst the hustle and bustle of the shopping area is a sanctuary that is a must see. There is a delightful bistro on the first floor that serves delicious scouse, a must try for anyone visiting Liverpool.

This is the oldest surviving building in Liverpool. It is well worth a visit. There are unique shops in the courtyard also a restaurant. We had lunch there which was lovely.

There is so much to do at the Blue Coat that you could easily waste a few hours there. Enjoy brunch with friends in the dining room before taking in one of the gallerys then chilling over coffee and cake in the courtyard and browsing the craft shops or exibitions they have on throughtout the year. The monthly guide is... More

A great building in its own right, this tells the story of education but is now a great arts venue. Different every time I go. Great in the summer, when there are sometimes live acts in the garden.

This place is great for relaxing, taking in cultural activities, craft, second hand book sales etc etc - there is a real ambience about it and there is also food! A lovely bistro upstairs and a cafe downstairs. The garden is lovely if the weather is good - very relaxing.

Thank Karen W
