Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a fantastic experience. We visited & played while the Open Championship was taking place down the road at Hoylake.
Wallasey is an excellent traditional links, a good test of golf but playable and fair especially off the forward tees. I really enjoyed the round but having visited many golf clubs in Ireland/UK & US what makes Wallasey stand out is the welcome we were given by the club, it’s staff and it’s members. From the moment we arrived we were treated as welcome guests, given a nice history of the club and chatted through the things to look out for on the course. Special call out to Tony & Gary, you are great ambassadors for your club and can be rightly proud of it. I’m looking forward to getting back soon.

Had the pleasure of playing this course recently and it is majestic . Great views over the Mersey and a great course with immaculate fairways and greens

I'm not a golfer - but went here yesterday for a funeral wake. A sad occasion, but I just wanted to say that the buffet was really superb and particularly the friendly, speedy and first class attention paid to me by the Chef Stu. I mentioned to him that I had a Wheat Allergy and he immediately said he would put together a gf sandwich for me. In no time at all I was served the best plate of ham & chicken toastie, plus drizzled side salad that I've ever had - wonderful. This sympathetic catering for someone with an allergy is sadly very unusual and definitely deserves noting. I hope someone at the Club passes this on to him with due praise.

We play at another local Wirral club , but were kindly invited to Wallasey by a member as a birthday gift for my son.
As soon as you pull into the car park , the sense of history with the traditional club house hits you . The pro shop staff were extremely friendly and helpful
On to the course and although my own golf on the day was awful , none of this had anything to do with the course which I can only describe as sublime. Perfectly manicured greens that run true without bobbles or deviation, crisp clear fairways . well defined rough and beautiful sculptured grass paths all set in lovely rolling dunes on the Wirral coast.
The bunkers ( and I visited most of them ) were difficult , were fantastic , lots of clean stone free soft sand giving confidence to dig in and take the shot aggressively . The greens stunning
Make no mistake , this is a golfers course , and not for the feint hearted , challenging testing and with the wind a true fight , and all the better for it , some truly outstanding holes which are not all about belting the ball as hard as possible but rather craft , guile and a good golf brain. A golfers golf course.
The day was cut short through no fault of anyone's dues to lightening storms and we had to depart half way around. but even there Wallasey's class come to the fore with an instant offer to allow us to replay the round free of charge.
If you are looking for a stunning golf course , that treats visitors well , with a beautiful backdrop with fantastic views of coast and sea , look no further.

Have visited this a few times lovely in the summer right by the shore , got sunburned on the course, went as a novice golfer. Was looked after very cheap price and great course to learn golf . well looked after ,we lost a jumper on way round , and it was handed in to the office . will be back again. This is better than Aintree race course as it offers a better course and test your golf . We where left to enjoy our day with out expert show off golfers and could relax brilliant.

Played here a few times and I never understand why people always talk about Royal Liverpool, unless the conversation is with some one who has played the course and agree with me
It has diversity in the holes, short par 4, really long and sometimes unreachable par 4, of course dependent upon the wind direction, on that note every time I’ve played it there’s a wind which blows in from the North Wales coast which you see from the magnificent 4 th hole
My favourites are the second a tough dogleg where stableford has a plaque on the tee.
4th for the view
11th playing in the dunes to an elevated green into the wind
Plus a great finishing hole
I will be back time and time again

Played the Course Last week and have played there several times before-it always seems to be overlooked when people come to play on "England,s Golf Coast" but this is a Course that is right up there with Royal Liverpool, Royal Birkdale et al, The Course was in superb condition-a true traditional Links-Greens excellent,
Fantastic clubhouse with a lot of golf history and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
All in all a great golfing experience.
