Wallasey is a great layout on the Wirral. Beautiful seaside links course with plenty of challenging holes. My round started in bright sun and very warm temps, but by the 3rd green the fog was rolling in and the temp was dropping. On the 4th tee I couldn't see the group I knew had just teed off ahead of me!... More

Second time around it felt better probably because it was a sunny day and the winds were serene! The Course was in fantastic condition, excellent fairways, superb greens etc It was originally designed by Tom Morris Snr but has seen refinements since those days. It's probably best known as the Course where The Stableford scoring system was devised, first used/played... More

We played this course on what was a very wet and windy morning which after 3 holes blew itself out and led to a windy but mainly sunny experience. We were aware of its history apropos Bobby Jones with the original picture in pride of place at the Club plus being the home of the Stableford scoring system. The Course... More

The home of Dr Stableford who invented the current points scoring system used in Club Golf. Steeped in history and with one fabulous hole after another. If the wind really blows it could be very tough but it was gorgeous throughout the 3 days we were there

Invited to Wallasey Golf club's annual hot pot supper. The food was excellent and plenty of it. Comedian Vince Earl was very funny and confirms you don't have to be crude to be funny. All in all a very good night.

We received a friendly welcome & were given access to the changing facilities - lovely sight overlooking the first tee. A wonderful golf course - a test of golf with excellent greens. The 18th coming back towards the club house is an absolute delight to play. A welcoming 19th hole awaited us with good beer and warm food. I can... More

This is a hidden gem and a classic links course which compares very favourably with its nearby famous neighbour - Royal Liverpool. A challenge for all handicaps.
