- Maureen RMaghull, United Kingdom47 contributionsOh Yes It Is !The Everyman Panto - one of the highlights of the Liverpool cultural calendar. And this year it was well up to standard. The very talented cast work so hard but make it seem effortless, the audience enjoy every second and there are never any 'jokes' that parents would worry about their children hearing. As usual, we all loved getting sprayed with water, joined in the songs, booed the villain and 'oohed' when Cinderella magically appeared in her beautiful ball gown. It was all just wonderful !Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 24 November 2023

I have been going to panto since my eldest grandson was 2 hrs now 14 and we still go every year. Our family has since grown and this is my treat to them every Christmas it's all about making memories. This year's panto was by far the best I seriously felt like we was in the panto, the cast was amazingly funny and so musically talented!! Lots of add-libbing "very funny" The audience participation last night just made it perfect. The kids loved it came out on a high and want to go back. We are already excited for next year "Oh yes we are" Thank you to all the cast and staff involved for yet again helping to create the best memories. If you have never been to a rock and roll panto you Havnt lived. "Best Panto Ever"Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 28 December 2023
- DayTrip550879535156 contributionsAvoid the restorant if your hungryWe came here as a family to see the panto on 7th December. The panto was fantastic as usual and we all teally enjoyed it. The only thing that let the experience down was the restorant which we had booked for beforehand. It was just awful!!! The choice of food was very poor and what we did get was served cold. The choice for a vegetarian child was sausage abd nash, but theyd run out of veggie sausages so brought it with stuffing balls instead. It was nit a good start to the night at all and very disapointing! We will still come back to see the panto next year, but will be giving the restorant a wide berth Over £100 on food that none of the people I was with enjoyed one bit! Whoever put that menu together didnt think it out well for parties that would mostly include children.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 13 January 2024

The actors were all really good and engaged brilliantly with the audience. The atmosphere was so lovely with everyone really getting into the spirit of things and helping each other out. Thoroughly entertaining and all accompanied by a great afternoon tea provided by the excellent Everyman staff. Upon arrival the entrance was busy. Heading to the bar we was told, we are not allowed. To. Buy snacks too Take into theatre as it makes too much noise! Yes you read that right. Take your own as they can not. Take it off you. Nipped. To the toilet before the show began, I got banged at, 'hurry up your delaying the show'!
So. 2 things that upset me...
The show was brilliant, can not fault at all, the staff in the auditorium was lovely also.
Break time, time for ice cream, my mother got. Told to. Hurry up or leave her ice cream as she ' would delay the show!'
I turned and told the lady, she's very strict. For no reason, if the show wants to start let it. We payed our money its our choice to. Finish our ice-cream we payed for.
With a 4 year. Old, who was looking forward. To treats and a fun day, I would. Say I wasn't happy and Walt with a cranky kid thanks to. Their. Very strict rules with kids involved!

I had a lovely evening at the Liverpool Everyman watching Our Town Needs a Nandos. The cast were excellent the play was funny poignant and thought provoking. I was also served in the downstairs bar by a lovely young lady who I think was called
Namitha. She was pleasant, professional and engaging whilst the bar was quiet. Thank you Everman and all concerned.

Great atmosphere. All the staff were cheerful and helpful.
The cast of Red Riding Hood were fantastic. Every cast member put everything they had into their performance. The energy and professionalism was beyond perfect, (I really enjoyed the Adele song performed by Grandma.) . It was over 3 hours long and the best value for money I've had in a long time. The audience were joining in making it like one big party.

It’s a dramatic building resulting from its complete revamp in the mid 1970s. Interesting to learn that the original building was Hope Hall, a Dissenter's Chapel, completed in 1837.
Having some other roles in the intervening years, it became the Everyman in 1964. Since then many famous playwrights have had their notable output performed here.

This was a favourite hangout from my teens/twenties and, returning to Liverpool with my family, I was looking forward to the rock n roll panto at the refurbished theatre. We ate at the street cafe in the foyer and have to say that it was not a quality experience. Most choices were out of stock - and bearing in mind that we had the first table for the pre-evening performance, this was extremely disappointing. Warm mince pies for pudding turned out to be 1 cold mince pie and we had to ask for the cream, which was highly aerated and not as I had imagined.
My advice: support this brilliant theatre; skip the eatery.

We went to the Murder Mystery dinner.
The "show" was good. But the food was lukewarm and we couldn't buy a drink in the welcome area (we got a glass of prosecco on arrival but were sitting around for a while before being taken to our table downstairs). Then the bar ran out of change so couldn't take cash unless you had the exact amount. No condiments on our table. We were told that the bar wasn't serving hot drinks but then we saw that the next table had coffees. So everything surrounding the acting seemed disorganised, chaotic even, but the interactive show was very good.

Hello
I would like to take my two children 4 and 8 to the panto . Which seats give the best view for children of that age ? Stalls middle or side or the circle ??
Are there any particular good seats ?
Thanks
Written 8 November 2019
Middle front is best but it’s a small theatre and pretty inclusive wherever you are
Written 8 November 2019
Not been to the everyman, but thinking of going to see Paint your Wagon. Can someone explain to me why there is such a variation of ticket prices is it because you get a better view the more you pay.
Written 21 March 2018
Like any theatre, pricing varies depending on where you sit and the view.
The Everyman is quiet intimate so any seat would be good.
the seating is on all four sides of the stage - majority of the time the play is performed with characters facing in all directions, not really a front or back if that makes sense? Some dance routines were performed facing forward.
We had seats in the stalls, (middle section ) three rows back and could see upto the musicians as well as The circle which was used occasionally for some parts of the performance. (You would not have been able to see this if you were sat on the sides).
Looking at the price variations, band 4 maybe ‘behind the stage’ and you would have no view of the characters in the circle. Perhaps ring up and clarify before you buy the tickets?
It was a great show!
Have fun 😀
