Absolutely disgusted at the Liverpool Naval Club. Apparently 230 tickets sold yet we arrived at 7.45pm to no seats and only 175 people in the venue. (Stats told to me by the staff). We complained requested a refund and were told that there was no management on site who could authorise that. What an utter joke someone has to be responsible for a packed out venue!! We ended up stuck in the corner sat in a single straight line so couldn't talk to anyone and god help us if someone wanted the toilet that was literally a military manoeuvre! I couldn't even see the stage as I was hidden down steps with a wooden seat back in front of me. We often frequent this place as a family and have enjoyed the venue bit they really let us down on NYE and nobody seemed
to give a damn.
We ended up leaving whilst they served the buffet as our night was ruined.
When this venue is struggling in quieter months then dont count on me or my family to attend to support you like we've often done in the past. I'm not one to complain or write bad reviews but felt I had to do so on this occasion
Shame on you Liverpool Naval Club you ruined the last night of the year and decade.

Firstly many thanks for your comments. We are committed to ensuring the best experience possible for our customers and are constantly looking at ways to improve our service.
Customers who purchased tickets are advised there will be no reserved seating, It is always recommended that any groups of 4 or more arrive early to get seats together.
I can assure you that we in no way ‘over-sold’ this event. You and your group of 8+ arrived late, although an extremely busy night NYE, staff went out of their way to accommodate and find seating together (Baring in mind your aggression and disrespect towards the staff).

Just want to say the Boy George tribute act AKA Georgie Boy was fantastic!! What a voice and such a nice person. Thanks for a great night. We will look out for you again but perhaps at a different venue.
The Naval Club was a disappointment. It was that cold in there people had coats on, as did we. Ridiculous! Surely with the prices at the bar they can afford to have some heating on. We were glad to get in a warm taxi and go home. We found the bar prices expensive too - 2 pints of bitter and a whiskey was over a tenner!! No snacks or crisps behind the bar too. Come on guys get sorted. I would think twice about booking this venue for a special do.

My Daughter and Son-in-law had booked and paid £50 deposit for a christening but as the Government rules changed they obviously needed to cancel as 6 per table with no mixing and no standing would not be suitable for a family gathering.
Unfortunately the Naval Club suggested that the party could still go ahead with a pub style 6 per table. We do not understand how this could be policed following the government guidelines with all the tables being taken by family and friends at one party, and in our opinion was unworkable.
As soon as the Government changed the guidelines my daughter cancelled the room allowing the club to release that booking date for anyone else who found the situation workable for them.

Sorrowful Performance
Booked the function room for a funeral reception. I was informed, by Mark, there were no time restrictions with regards to ‘last orders’. We spoke further of the possibilities for provision of catering and the incorporation of music. I duly paid the amount required and continued to make all the necessary arrangements for the forthcoming occasion.
On the stated day, 25th August 2023, family, and friends arrived as expected at 1.00 pm. Independent caterers had organised the buffet as requested. Moreover, after the food service, all tables were cleared by members of the funeral party, no Naval Club staff were required to help.
Around 7.00 pm, a member of staff approached to ask what time the caters were due to clear the remnants of the buffet. This member of staff stated that she had been informed that “caterers would be returning at 5.30 pm. In response I told this said member of staff “arrangements had been to clear the area, in accordance with Mark., between 7.00 – 8.00 pm. Nevertheless, this member of staff indicated “It should have been cleared already, because we’re calling last orders now.”
According to her, we were not purchasing enough drinks at the bar. Apparently when there appears to be a natural lull in drinking, ‘last orders are called’. One of the guests informed me upon hearing this, that the same course of action was taken at his wedding function.
Upon extend discussions with both members of staff, I was informed that funeral functions are only given a five hours’ time limit. When booking Mark gave no such indication. Furthermore, the male member of staff (supposedly senior), produced the order book, which accurately confirmed the start time for 1.00 pm, yet there was no definite closing time listed.
It proved a bad enough day having to cope with the funeral of my wife, but due to the insensitive nature of the Liverpool Naval Club staff, we had no option but to take our custom elsewhere.
Thus, this grief-stricken gathering, was forced to venture further afield in order to continue their bereavement.
I concluded that both members of staff simply wanted to get away early. When I enquired could they provide Mark’s contact number, I was informed that he was on holiday.
This couple showed a distinct lack of respect for my expectations.
Such a sorrowful performance by Naval Club staff.
Never to be forgotten.

We hired this for my mum’s 25th wedding anniversary. The staff were brilliant helping us to make it a great night for all. The room was decorated lovely. It had a separate room for the buffet, all staff including barmaids and doorman were just great and really accommodating. Was a brilliant night and would recommend this club for parties. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn’t compliment the place and staff enough.

Fabulous venue, with superb artists and of course amazing staff who couldn't do enough for you.
The only downside for us was they ran out of food on the chinese buffett - which was served by lovely ladies, just when it was our turn there was only fried rice, cold chips, soggy spring roll and chicken wings which doesn't make a chinese buffet.
However we would 100% recommend you give this place a try.
We will definitely be returning.

Went to Liverpool Naval Club for the first time last night. We saw Stephanie Aird. Very talented comedienne. Had an absolute blast. Great venue. Everyone there was so friendly - other people watching the show plus all the staff working there. Even though it's about 35 miles from where I live I'll be back. Thanks for your hospitality.

Motown evening at the Navy Club was absolutely brilliant!!! Very relaxed atmosphere, nice big room and large dance floor plus really friendly staff. The Free hot curry and rice was delicious and not rushed at all. got chatting to the club owner, when he heard we were celebrating a birthday, he sent over a bottle of Proseco! what a nice touch... The live band and solo acts were spot on, playing plenty of classics and the dj had a full dance floor until 2am. Great night out, great value and can't wait for the next one!!
