We would like to thank Philip for a very interesting and entertaining tour last Saturday. We had no idea what to expect (well we do know the story lol, at least we thought we did!). Philip's energy and portrayal of this century old event were so good. Thank you.

Our tour guide was John, really nice guy that managed to inform and entertain as he guided us around the East end. Very clear to see he had a wealth of knowledge in the topic and was a really good story teller. Able to answer questions and explain the different theories in circulation. Don't need to know a huge deal... More

We went last night - Philip was our guide. He was highly knowledgeable, very funny and made the experience come to life. The tour left on time and it actually flew by, within what felt like half an hour we had walked miles and the tour was over. My friends and I left having had a great night out with... More

Philip was our guide. He did an excellent job detailing jack the ripper's grisly murders. Not only was Philip knowledgeable, but he was also very amusing. The tour covered a short distance- the time flew by. Philip had a bag of photos - his presentation skills excellent. I hate to describe a tour about murders as "fun" but this tour... More

Tour guide (Phil) was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Shared great visual aids (actual crime scene and victim photos) and historical data about the people involved and neighborhood during the time period. It was rainy and cold and I didn't care. VERY well done! Phil tells a great story. Not scary at all (unless he uses his "ripper voice"). I did... More

Came down to London for a birthday weekend and booked the tour, only knowing little bits about Jack the Ripper. The tour changed all that. It was absolutely amazing!! Our tour guide really knew his stuff and he was so passionate about the subject!! Made us laugh too. The walk through the old alleys was great, seeing all the areas... More

I hadn't given Jack the Ripper much thought but had seen all the movies etc. my wife however is quite intrigued by the whole deal so we took in the walking tour. This was a great experience for her and I really enjoyed it as well. You meet the tour just after dark outside the tube station in Whitechapel the... More

We did this on Firday before Guy Fawkes Day and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour! George's enthusiasm and detailed knowledge of the subject brought to life Victorian London and the atmosphere surrounding the murder cases! I learnt so much and saw back streets I had no idea that existed! What a brilliant thing to do, whether you're a Londoner or... More

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
