- Núria S6 contributionsA 10/10 experience by fantastic peopleOne of the best experiences we have had while living in London! Everything was great, from the actual kitchen we used to the fantastic food we got to make for ourselves (we all also got to taste the Master Chef's version during the demo and it was insane!) The Master Cheft was incredibly friendly, helpful, patient, funny, and detailed all the steps, along with anecdotes and fun facts. I will be back as I loved it so much I am now organising a big group of friends to celebrate a birthday!Hi! Thank you for such a lovely review. We hope your friends enjoy it as much as you do. All the ingredients and equipment included with the course (along with a complimentary drink and access to the paid bar). Good demonstration and explanation throughout with recipes and notes sent out on e-mail afterwards. Will be booking more of these for myself and friends.Hi there, Great to hear that you enjoyed the class so much. We look forward to yourself and your friends joining us again soon. The lesson was presented by Jacob who was great fun and full of knowledge . It was a pleasure to attend and I would highly recommend no matter what your cooking skills are !! Thanks for a great day !Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. - Beth ABraintree, United Kingdom127 contributionsA Taste of SushiJust wanted to say I had the best time attending the Taste of Sushi class at the Jamie Oliver Cooking school. The chef was so knowledgable and explained every single step before we had to go and start making our own. He was always there if you had a question and a helpful hand. I would recommend this class to any sushi loverHi! We're so happy you enjoyed it as much as you did. We hope to see you again. - Ellie M1 contributionOnline knife skills classThis online class took us through all the basics of how to use a chef's knife, including correct grip and chopping techniques. The instructor was really friendly & knowledgeable and made everything really clear over Zoom. As there were only about ten participants, the chef could give helpful feedback to help us all improve. I definitely feel more confident preparing ingredients now and we made a delicious stir fry to enjoy afterwards! That's Great!Written 13 May 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 23 March 2024
- christathLondon, United Kingdom253 contributionsGreat fun and you learn to make amazing food as wellWhat a fun way to learn to cook. Amazed when we got to the school. The school is based on Holloway Road and from the outside it doesn't look great, but when you go inside you're transported to something else. The place is clean, very spacess and the areas you learn at are very nicely set out. The teacher, Robbie was informative but fun. We were shown how to make chicken Po, summer rolls, pork ball lettuce wraps and a salad. which you get to eat at the end Learnt a lot and will definitely be putting into practice at home. Even if you don't know how to cook I'd highly recommend this it.Fantastic! It's great to hear you've learnt skills that you can carry over into your daily kitchen routine! The lead chef Kris was enthusiastic, funny & insightful. Lots of top tips that I will definitely remember. Everything was explained in great detail & we were given a generous amount of time to cook for ourselves. It was lovely to all sit down together to eat at the end without having to do the cleaning up & dishes 😀 Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon & will definitely be booking onto another class soon. On the day we logged into Zoom and there was our chef. Chef went through the making of the meal in detail with a lot of extra hints and facts. Plenty of time to ask questions and make notes. Will most definitely be telling our friends about this.Hi there, That's wonderful! - Mary tSan Carlos, California12 contributionsGreat Food & Great Experience! Do take it!My husband and I are long-time fans of Jamie Oliver; we love to cook, have his cookbooks, and watch many of his shows/videos. We travel extensively and always try to take a local cooking class when visiting a new place. We were all in when we discovered that J.O. had a cooking school. The class was superb; the instructor/chef was knowledgeable, personable, and enjoyable. We learned new cooking techniques, improved our knife skills and fantastic recipes, and met lovely people while cooking. Just fantastic. His whole team was gracious and generous. Highly recommend!Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten 14 September 2024

We made the time spent a great time, chefs were really informative and friendly but we were very disappointed that we only had one of everything between 2 people to cook, we both paid £60 each and expected for each of us to have a cooking station not between 2! there should be a reduced charge for the second person joining as that person doesn't get much learning abilities to cook, you can't take it in turns when cooking as the other person misses out on taking part of that stage of cooking.
The chefs also had all the intrigants ready in the pot, so wasn't much learning when all the prep has been done for you.
I think this should be re looked at, as i will not be recommending friends and family based on this. Extremally disappointed and gutted as was looking forward to the experience.
Also there was a loan person and they had the exact same portions as what coupes had, so I was hungry!

Well, as a bit of an old codger with minimal kitchen skills (and that's putting it mildly) I must confess to feeling a little apprehensive about attending this class. I had nightmarish visions of being publicly scolded by some Gordon Ramsay type character for my astonishing uselessness...
But hey, this session was FANTASTIC ! Led by Susie, who made the lesson zip along, she made it all seem so achievable, and a lot of fun too. Susie had that gift, which you find in great teachers, of making things sound easy and accessible. Instructions were really clear and simple to follow.
We also met some very nice co-students who all had very positive experiences too. You know, although I've left it late, I might just get into this cooking thing !

Great hints and tips from Chef Chris.
Well run course and gives a good introduction to Thai cooking and understanding of balancing taste.
Made Tom Yum Soup, Papaya salad, Beef stir-fry and green curry paste.
The course was broken up into a number of well spaced sessions where we cooked and ate as each course was cooked.
I found it a little pricey but that was subsidised by a Christmas Gift voucher I used and the price did include all the ingredients and wine with the meal at the end.
Only improvement I would suggest is that it would be nice to send home attentees with a momento from the course for example of one of Jamie's cookbooks, knife, apron or pestle and mortar.
Would I attend another cookery class? Yes.

We have just done the speedy online Jamie cookery sausage pizza for kids lesson via zoom. It was brilliant. We loved it from start to finish and learnt some new tips along the way. The chef (from Sardinia) was fantastic and made it so much fun, the sausage pizza was delicious and we can’t recommend this enough, We will definitely do another lesson online again.

Myself and my partner Candice did our sixth cooking course at Jamie's HQ in London. Fabulous venue, really excellent chefs and in particular they are very good at imparting their knowledge and expertise.
We retired straight into lockdown and found Jamie's on-line courses (completed all 35 of them!) tremendous fun. For a small outlay you get taught how to cook fabulous food.
All in all you get excellent value for money entertainment and learn a skill. on-line courses consist of selecting and buying the food, prepping, cooking with the chefs then enjoying a 5 star meal. The in-person courses in London are magnificent, changed our lives, give it a try.

I did the Jamie Cooks Italy full-day class which I loved. Kris our chef was excellent with great energy and good tips, everyone was so friendly, and the food was delicious. Kris did a few demos, and we all made a few things by ourselves so we didn’t have to pair up with anyone which I preferred. I came home with a fabulous doggie bag! They sell the cookbooks for £10 which is great value too!
There was white and red wine, and elderflower preseé available for non-drinkers like me so we were well catered for.
Highly recommend! I definitely want to do more classes now.

Was looking forward to taking a class at a Jamie Oliver location. We tried to leave twice as much time as necessary to still arrive early, but the underground mine was down and we were a few minutes late. Doors were locked and we were not allowed to participate. Might consider booking other options closer to the center of London to ensure you can participate as there are no refunds or options for a make up class online or at the school.

Hope someone can help! I'm looking to book the pasta master class at 5.15pm, for a friends birthday. Not sure how much there will be to eat - should I book us dinner for the evening, or will we be full from the class? Thanks!

We ate all the pasta we made - delicious but as the others say, you might like a pudding afterwards. Enjoy your course.
Written 7 December 2018
Hello,
I've read in some of the reviews that, in some courses, many key processes are already premade (like broths) therefore, making the cooking lesson less comprehensive.
For those of you who took the Vietnamese street food cooking class, did you cook everything from scratch, or did you just assembled premade ingredients and chopped vegetables?
Thanks!
Written 22 January 2018
The broth is pre made but he explains in detail how to make it and shares knowledge of the spices etc and how to get it to your taste. When something takes at least 6 hours to prepare I don't think you could expect to do that in a short course. You do however prepare a dipping sauce from scratch along with your pork quinnels.
