Neighbourhood: Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are ever spending the day at Portobello road market be sure to pop into Barham antiques situated in the heart of Portobello road. The shop has a stunning array of antiques boxes, glass ware and silver. The barham brothers are lovely friendly people rich in knowledge. High quality antiques at competitive prices you will not be disappointed!

I love antiquing, however, the experience can be overwhelming with so many shops to choose from in the heart of London; additionally, the integrity of the owner is always paramount for me (and sometimes difficult to discern). While in London, we luckily discovered Barham Antiques on Portobello Road. They the most beautiful collection of antique boxes and all types of crystal glasses. We have purchased from him both for ourselves as well as gifts for friends and family on both our visits to London. Robert Barham is not only the very knowledgeable, experienced proprietor but also a genuine person who we like very much.
