Incredible tour and you will be amazed at the paintings and interior design. The history talk was amazing and if you love crime thrillers this place is a must! Sitting in the Courts where famous trials have been held gives you the sense of an impending trial. The long corridor of holding cells gives you an insight of how this Court operates on such impending doom over the years. Amazing behind doors tour.

Joe is an ex-journalist and you will never find anyone else more knowledgeable as to how the court system runs. I have wanted to do this tour for years but with the pandemic and work commitments etc. today was the earliest opportunity. I met Joe via zoom on one of his educational talks about the criminal justice system but todays experience was just the icing on the cake. The only frustrating part is that some school trips join and whilst they aren’t young children more colleague students they can be so disrespectful sniggering and talking loudly when asked to proceed through the court areas quietly. Joe tried as best he could to manage it but it’s really down to the teachers to exercise some control of the groups. I was fortunate enough to witness some live trials at the Old Bailey and the staff were just so kind. Looking forward to joining another tour in the future, well done Joe 👏❤️👏

This is a amazing tour. Led by Tim Wood who was a crime journalist who has spent half his working life there, he knows the place inside out. He is full of information about the architecture, the legal system, the judges and barristers, and lots of fascinating stories. We were on our feet for 2 hours and ended up at the Old Bailey, and were able to spend half an hour sitting in on a real live murder, (this is entirely voluntary). And it was extremely cheap, £11 for the elderly. This must be the best value tour in London.

My husband (a California trial attorney) and I really enjoyed this tour. The guide was very personable and knowledgeable and provided stories, insight and facts relating to the history of the British Court and Legal system. In addition to a tour of the courts, we toured the Inns of Court and were able to sit in on a trial at the Old Baily itself. WOW! Highly recommend. Great value too.

Do not consider this tour unreliable despite having taken money. I booked and paid a month ahead..special occasion.. Lots of stuff planned around the day. Got terse e mail 48 hrs before telling me unknown attendees had pulled out and I wasn’t a financially viable concern.
Would recommend same tour entirely with London walks..,top guiding and tour runs every day as planned no matter who turns up. Pay on the day..and full refund with 24 hrs notice…what’s not to like.Same thing…just guaranteed.

We are sorry to have caused such disappointment for this lady and her son. The main group cancelled just three days before the tour was due to commence. It is a very rare occurrence. We offered a full refund plus a free tour for four people at a later date with an open ended timeframe. We also offered to provide our exclusive list of the most interesting cases on at the Old Bailey on the day of the cancelled tour so they could go and watch a trial if so desired. The guide is a former crime reporter at the court and he compiles this information from his contacts. Please accept our sincere apologies.

Top notch. Tim was experienced through previous employment as a journalist at the courts. He had great insight into the history of the buildings and the courts as well as the present day functioning. We shared a pint after the tour and went off topic as he and my husband commiserated supporting losing “football” teams (Tim- Tottenham, my husband - Cleveland Browns.) Tim then guided us to the criminal court where we sat in on a pre-trial hearing for a perfect cap to the day.
