About
Dotmaker Tours lead London walks to change your perspective. The walks are available on scheduled dates, and at other times to private groups. Each guided walk covers a different part of London, including the West End, the City, the area to the south of Canary Wharf and Greenwich. They are based on unusual themes such as power, waste, sound and slowness. We consider how those themes relate to the area - past, present and future. The walks are designed to trigger conversation, and give an immersive experience. For example, you might find yourself awed by judges in the Royal Courts of Justice, revelling in reflected sounds from St Paul's Cathedral bells or marvelling at methods of transforming the capital's dust. The walks are led by life-long Londoner, Rosie Oliver. Rosie has a background as an environmental lawyer. These days she divides her time between leading London walks and producing spoken audio features and podcasts.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The sounds of london tour was great to engage teenagers. We went as a family and it was a very enjoyable way to spend the morning. Rosie talks with passion and knowledge, she brings scenes of old London alive and has some great facts up her sleeve. It was a really lovely way to see a different side of a city we’ve lived in all our lives. Highly recommend.

Rosie was an informative and fun guide around the chimneys and tunnels of Greenwich. It was a thoughtful interesting tour which took in the area in a new way. If you love learning about history in different ways and seeing things from a new angle this is for you. Thanks Rosie!

This was my third tour with Rosie - and the fact I've been on three walks with her now probably says all you need to know! This time it was the Rubbish walk, taking in all sorts of places around Docklands that I'd never seen before despite living in London for decades. Rosie's great for not only talking very evocatively about history but also making us consider more than just how things looked - we're encouraged to think about smells, for example (which obviously makes sense when she's talking about rubbish!). The tour included a stroll through the farm at Mudchute, complete with pigs (nature's perfect garbage disposal units) and ended up with a spot of mudlarking on the Thames (up to a point - you need a licence to do it properly). As always, I came away having laughed a lot, learnt a lot and with a sense that London is always full of surprises. And as always, I thoroughly recommend it!

What a fabulous day spent with Rosie for what was a hugely enthusiastic and vastly interesting Chimneys and Tunnels tour along the Thames.
Always great to learn new facts and information and to see such fascinating places, places you would never even notice if you didn't have the expertise and knowledge so beautifully delivered from Rosie!

Great tour guide Rosie, very friendly and engaging into being in the moment and thinking of what you are looking at. Did Greenwich to Isle of Dogs tour 'Tunnels & Chimneys' which is great for Londoners to see their industrial surroundings and connect to a bit of local history. Perfect for Saturday walk.

We enjoyed a tour in a large group, parents and children ranging an age from 6 to 14. Rosie brought the experience to life with her engaging personality and focus on details that we would never otherwise have noticed. She arranged games for the children, pointing out great art and historic facts for all of us. The area is exciting as typifying the ever-changing face of London with new developments and historic cites. We had a great lunch down at Trinity Wharf. Thanks again Rosie for making our friends reunion so special.

Took the fascinating Trinity Buoy Wharf tour and loved it. Having lived in London for 25 years it made me realise how much I didn’t know about the city. Rosie knits together all the disparate strands so well and is wonderful company. It was a delightful way to spend a few hours on a Saturday. Heartily recommend it.

Thank you Rosie, for taking us all on such a fascinating, surprising, and unusual walk on Saturday - everyone (from the age of 6-56!) thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Such a treat to explore such unexpected and exciting backwaters of London along the Thames, and to be able to put all the new developments, ventures and initiatives into the context of the history of London and the river. Highly recommended - a really unforgettable way to spend a Saturday.

Thanks, Beccy, that's wonderful to hear! It was a delight spending the day with you all. Great to get the inside line on the buildings and green roofs we passed, that people in the group had been involved with.
Hope you had a super fun evening.
