Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Holliway's Heyday, the Oxford Street of North Lindon was s fascinating glimpse into life and development of the Holliway Road, through 18th, 19th 20th centuries. So similar yet so different from today's street.
Jane's knowledge was brilliant and she gave a real insight into life on this key route, now the A1

Jane has outlined the history and current situation of the gaslights that are still in London. A very well researched and interesting walk and talk with lots of information delivered with Jane’s enthusiastic style. Highly recommended and very enjoyable.

We booked on Jane's Gaslight walking tour from Victoria to Covent Garden and it was absolutely fantastic. Her knowledge of such an obscure subject, backed up by extensive research, is incredible - all delivered with genuine enthusiasm.
Highly recommended.

I've been down the Holloway Road 100s of times, walking & on the 43 bus & I had no idea of the history behind so many buildings & beautiful facades. Jane's tour, 'The Oxford Street of North London' was brilliant! Full of delightful insights & stories & characters & vivid descriptions of how the street looked & was thriving since the 1850s. Thank you. I'll never see Holloway Rd with the same eyes. I'll spread the word :)

I am so very glad you enjoyed the tour. Holloway has so much history and so much to discover. As I always say, it's all out there hiding in plan view, waiting for us to notice. All the best, Jane

It's marvellous when people return for more. Thanks! I hope to see you again soon. Don't be shy to make suggestions if walks aren't listed on my schedule – just give me a nudge, no commitment. All the best, Jane

Another great walk with Jane around an area that has changed so much since I lived at the Angel some 40 years ago.

We walked around the Regent's Canal in Islington, circular from City Road Basin and in and out of the Victorian streets and repurposed factories.

It’s like reliving your memories with an entertaining and knowledgeable friend who shows you a different perspective and guarantees you a great couple of hours walking and talking.

Thank you – again! I am more than happy to be your 'knowledgeable friend' – that's really nice. It's amazing how much that stretch of the canal has changed in the last few decades and thanks also for your additional info and reminiscences along the way. See you again soon.

An excellent 2-hour walk led by Jane from Tottenham Court Road to the Strand, taking in a number of Art Deco theatres on the way, plus other buildings and hidden alleys and courts. Very interesting and instructive, covering history , architecture.and other aspects of a fascinating area.

Glad you enjoyed it Peter. There's always more to learn, especially abut the history of the first gas lamps, and I'm still finding out new snippets of info that change or question the received info in many books and online. Please do let me know if you can to the story. All the best and see you soon, Jane

Having done a number of London walks, we were looking forward to a new experience with Jane and were not disappointed. Jane is a very friendly, warm but most importantly knowledgeable guide. We did the Arcades and Alleyways walk which was extremely enjoyable and interesting. Jane takes time to chat and impart her knowledge in an easy to understand way. Jane also has a good sense of humour which is always welcomed and helps when remembering things! We would highly recommend a walk with Jane

How lovely – thanks! It was really nice meeting you both and showing you around this fascinating area of London. The covered arcades are gems in themselves, never mind the fabulous goods on offer in the windows! Hope to see you again.
