'The Blood and Tears Walk' has a cult reputation with massive 'word of mouth'. Going for fourteen years, it is one of the best known London walks and has earned the right to be called a horror classic. Guide Declan McHugh has been on television and radio and many thousands come each year to learn about Jack the Ripper, other London serial killers, witchcraft, executions, conspiracy theories etc. Meets outside the only exit at Barbican station and ends two hours later at Holborn underground station.

Had a great time visiting some of the spookier sites of London, including some less well known ones. Declan's energy and enthusiasm made it a unique and exciting tour that made us laugh, and gave us chills! It's fairly fast paced so you have to pay attention but you certainly get your moneys worth of juicy info! So good we... More

Fancied something different to do in London so booked "Blood and Tears" last minute. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk. Very fast paced and full to the brim with exciting, fun and spooky information. The owner was a great host. His story-telling and interaction is second to none. Happy to answer all questions. Bought his book "Bloody London" - which is very... More

Brilliant tour! Very interesting and made more so by the guide, Declan. The tour takes you on the less obvious but in my eyes more interesting stories of London. Declan is very knowledgeable and brings the sites that you visit to life. I would definitely recommend.

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
