- Cobi-leighBridgend County, United Kingdom167 contributionsIncredibleWhat a fabulous show. It was our first show in London and we were not disappointed. Entry was smooth and efficient. The story and the music were incredible. I'm not an emotional person and I filled up twice. The cast blew me away. You could see every single one of them had such passion.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 October 2023
- Beverley W38 contributionsClever way to tell Tina’s story.Very clever use of lots of Tina’s known songs to tell her story. Some shaky vocals at times but generally singing and dancing was excellent. Well done to the girl playing Young Annie-Mae, belting voice. We did feel a bit sorry for the actor playing Ike, who was roundly booed at the curtain calls, but he took it in good part and I suppose it’s a mark of how well he performed that we all hated him! It’s true you are asked not to sing along, what they should point out is that towards the end ‘Tina’ encourages you to do so, I won’t spoil it be telling you which doing (s). Hard though it is not to sing along, some of those complaining in these reviews should remember that the audience haven’t paid to hear THEM singing! Note to the theatre: Maybe a singalong show could be put on now and then…Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 9 October 2023
- Maria HCopenhagen, Denmark29 contributionsMore than a five star musicalI have no words. This musical is so very beautiful put together. Smart time-jumps, great and professional sing and dancing. Absolutely a show that I will never forget, and that tells Tina's life story in a dedicate and respectful way. If I could I would give it way many more stars.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 18 October 2023
- PennyPurplesSevenoaks, United Kingdom1,440 contributionsExcellent show. Be aware that many seats have very restricted legroom.23-Apr-23 Aldwych Theatre for Tina Turner musical: Reviews warned me that many seats have very limited legroom so, as I'm 6 foot, I was sure to book seating with decent leg room (check relevant theatre seating websites for advice). Tina musical was very good indeed. A hard story to watch at times (domestic abuse) but utterly uplifting in the end. The young actress playing young Tina was incredible. A definite future star.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 October 2023
- William DNewtownabbey, United Kingdom6 contributionsSimply the best night outWhat a great night out. I have never been to a west end musical and to be fair never knew to much about Tina's life before attending. I went on a recommendation and I'm so glad I did. My partner and I had travelled over from Northern Ireland for a visit to London and fairly enjoyed this show from start to finish. Karis who played the role of Tina and all the cast done an outstanding job. The theatre was within easy reach from Temple underground. The theatre itself was a bit cramped in the section we were sitting in but we were well aware of this due to previous reviews and with the price bracket we paid this did not disappoint. I recommend everyone to go see this show, the story and the music was excellent and very enjoyable especially coming from a couple who knew very little about Tina Turner before attending. Simply the best night out.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 November 2023
- Joanne M2 contributionsFirst time musical experience A+++My first ever musical and WOW, I have been converted. The show was outstanding and every single actor was amazing. The theatre was lovely and very handy to get to from the underground. I arrived and was greeted by the door staff showing me to my entrance which was quick and swift in getting to my seat. The theatre was quite packed and the atmosphere was unreal especially at the end for the show finale. I am already looking at flights to London for my next musical. Recommend Tina Turner the musical to everyone to go and see you won't be disappointed.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 November 2023
- Sherpa75009012 contributionsSimply The BestFabulous show from start to finish. All actresses portraying Tina from an early age through to her older years were amazing. Fantastic music throughout, the atmosphere when the iconic Simply The Best was sang was unbelievable, the whole theatre was buzzing.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 November 2023
- johnNailsea, United Kingdom4 contributionsExcellent on every wayDue to heavy London traffic we arrived at the theatre five minutes late, exhausted and concerned. The foyer was full of staff offering their help and assuring us that they would get us to our seats at the first convenient moment. Having checked with the couple we would have to disturb we were seated in no time. All praise to excellent and courteous staff from two very appreciative Seniors. As for the couple, we had disturbed, ( from North Wales), they were so understanding and generous, that it all enhanced a very memorable evening. A great performance of a wonderful show from a wonderful cast. Thanks to everyone.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 November 2023

But also a big shout out to the staff…I came over a bit unwell 20 minutes into the show and they looked after me so well that I was able to continue watching the show. - Josephine YGillingham, United Kingdom7 contributionsAbsoloutly Brilliant!!!! A must see!!!!Absoloutly Brilliant Show!! My Husband who is not a Tina fan or a theatre goer Absoloutly loved it!! All the actors were fantastic gave 110% The stage production and singing was sensational!!! I would happily pay more to sit closer as the show was sooo worth it I absolutely loved it! Only very slight annoyance was the ushers. A little overbearing during the show even making a man show his ticket and move over one seat as he had sat in the seat next to his as it was empty. I personally found this ridiculous as no one was sat in the two seats beside his so why not as the seating is very close together and steep he was not hurting anyone only making it more comfortable for himself and the person he was sat net to. It was nt enough to put you of just a little annoying. Like leave the guy alone!Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 28 November 2023

The actress/singer who took the part of Tina was not the listed person for this role nor was she the understudy, she came from the ensemble so I’m not convinced she was the best for the part being third best. She had a very good voice but didn’t seem very strong.
The first half of the show was dedicated to the story of Anna Mae Bullock’s tough upbringing and her eventual disastrous marriage to Ike Turner. This was all quite drab and I suppose necessary for the story line but the audience were just waiting patiently for what they’d paid to see and that was Tina’s amazing stage performances.
When the stage Tina performer sang Private Dancer I was cringing a bit. Although it’s meant to start off in a very low key maybe D major I’m sure she started singing this in a much lower key and it was painful. Luckily there was a break in the music and she managed to get it together.
The show really came to life when it was Tina’s stage show. ‘Tina’ belted out the songs beautifully and the whole audience got involved. Getting to their feet and singing. It was all very spectacular. Most of Tina’s mega hits were included and the dull first half was forgotten. Her performance was vg and had improved from the first half..
In fact I’m sure it was the same actress but I had to wonder as there seemed to be such a marked improvement with the singing and performance for the finale.

Booked this as a birthday treat and I have to admit that it probably ranks as one of the best things I’ve done in so far as birthdays are concerned. What a scorcher if a show. Many of Tina’s amazing musical history cleverly weaves into her life story. We were totally captivated by the performances of the whole cast and this is simply a must (the best) that we have seen. Ten out of ten. Go and see this and you will not be disappointed.

We went with National Holidays, the show was in the afternoon, and started about 2.30pm until 5.15pm. I cannot fault the show in any way it was fantastic, sometimes a little bit loud and a bit of Effin and Jeffin, but I suppose they had to make it true to life.
They only problem we had was the very tight seating, our knees were crushed onto the seat in front, however we managed to use our coats as cushions and this helped quite a lot.

Went Sat 11 Jan 2020. Mixed ages and six of us for my sisters 50th.
What a show!
Love, Loved, Loved it!
Cast have amazing and powerful voices together with what must be an exhausting range of dancing, costume changes and all with a strong true to life history line. Talented people so glad we went, I would’ve hated to miss out on this superb cast.
WOW and thank you worth every penny x

Great atmosphere and great cast, enjoyable. Now for the downsides. You are told you are needed proof of COVID vaccination 3 hours before the show so we are all trying to fumble away looking for our QR codes contacting our GP to get our linkage key, ODD code and account ID only to find out you can get your temperature taken at the door. Ticket prices are high but that was ok but I did not expect 2 orange and vodkas, 2 lemonade and vodkas and 2 small gins to be £63. The queue is always long and soon as the bell rings you are not allowed to carry on ordering your drinks even though the company could still make a profit. Future reference if tickets are high prices don’t make drinks high prices too!!!!

My daughter Louise bought my eldest daughter Lucy and me an outing to London and an overnight stay in a Hotel. I have been to loads of Musicals in the West End but this was the best I have been to. We were asked to only sing along when asked to. When the last song 'Simply The Best' closed the fantastic evening we were bidden to join in. The entire theatre sang along and then we were treated to singing along to 'Nutbush City' and Proud Mary. I thought I knew all there was to know about Tina Turner but this play come musical filled in facts I wasn't aware of. Left the performance on a high. Amazing

I was really looking forward to seeing this show, I felt slightly let down from the offset. When first arrived we was rudely directed to the side door as if we was pheasants for sitting in the cheaper seats, told doors would open in 5 mins, they didn’t so went back to main entrance to be told”just go back up they will open soon” in a very abrupt tone. I couldn’t understand why we was not allowed in the main entrance when we exited once the show had finished that way, seemed very bizzare. Tina itself was ok,, sometimes I felt like it was quite a low budget, ametur show for the west end and quite confusing on where to look, spotlight on someone singing but cast members getting changed on stage for the next performance. Also was hard to hear the words sometimes and mics could have been a little louder for those that were sat up in the gods.. overall show was ok but I wouldn’t recommend it

I believe I went there having very high expectations. Unrealistic ones. In my mind I pictured an almost identical Tina Turner. It didn’t happen. That was my fault. I enjoyed much more watching youtube old concerts with real Tina Turner, her band and dancers. Don’t take me wrong, the lady performing as Tina is amazing! Her endurance, her singing, dancing and acting is one of the best ones I have seen in a long time. Pure art! Everyone loved her and the musical is fantastic because of her first of all. There are other excellent actors too. Nobody can imitate tinas moves, voice and expression. She is a unique artist. I am not a massive fan of Tina Turner. I do like her big musical hits and represents nostalgia of my childhood. It’s not the happiest life story either... we all know how tough and unfair Tina’s whole life was... The theatre seats were comfortable, not too bad. The stage is small. Our seats were in stalls, Row N, and the view was perfect! I wouldn’t have paid for more expensive tickets. It’s not necessary for this show. Of course at the end, there are songs and you are welcome to sing and dance. I would recommend it. If you remember the music industry in those days it will make you laugh and enjoy for a while. Enjoy the talent of the actors and the music. It’s worthy giving it a go. One more thing: it was really warm inside the theatre.

Wow Wow Wow, what an amazing show and cast.
Having only been open for 3 days prior to our matinee show, everything went like clockwork. All temps were taken, then either vaccination cards or negative tests checked before you even reached the front doors!
Before the show started your told that you can’t sing or dance along with the cast during the show…. Was rather disappointed by that as that’s all the fun of going to a show, BUT that said the cast make up for it at the end - but encouraging everyone to get up and join them for 2/3 songs at the end!

We are going in September and I wondered whether it is mandatory to wear masks still ? Thanks
Written 16 August 2021
Well it was mandatory to wear masks when I went last week but the only people wearing them were the staff. To be honest as everyone had to show their covid pass or proof of a test within 48 hours of the show then it’s not necessary.

Hi, my friend and I are going Thursday night. Where can we go for a couple of glasses of wine (not a pub) nearby? No need for a meal as we'll have an afternoon meal before we go.

Go to The One Aldwych. It’s top end luxury with lovely varied seating , great bar , and very delightful staff. It’s expensive - but elegant , calm and 30 second walk from the theatre. 3 of us had a bottle of wine and bar snacks ( sliders) and it was about seventy quid. But they served mini cocktails first and nuts etc . Worth it .

No need to spend 200GBP per ticket. Just look around on booking sites and avoid those that have horrendous booking fees. We booked through Nederlander and had great seats, 5th row stalls centre for 79GBP. Worth the time just to find reputable sites at a fair price,
