About
We're the Official Guides to the City of London. Our full title is the City of London Guide Lecturers Association, as some of our members give walks in the City and lecture on City-related topics. We were founded in 1983 to promote and maintain a high standard of guiding in, and lecturing about, the City of London. As well as giving walks and tours, many of our members offer lecture titles connected to the City. We offer a weekly programme of guided walks on all aspects of the City, as special events such as London Open House and the Lord Mayor's Show. And many of our guides offer tailor-made tours. Look out for special events and themed tours - there's always something going on!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Whether you are visiting London, or are a lifetime resident, Jenny's tour of the Square Mile is a can't miss opportunity. Worth her weight in gold, she brings the city alive with her immense knowlege base which is delivered in a riveting and delightful manner. She gave our private group of six, spanning ages of 19-72, an afternoon we will never forget. Jenny's passion for the history of London is impressive, but even moreso is her dedication to your experience. She created a bespoke tour full of fascinating locations with limited stairs and distance based on our group's requirements and kept in touch often leading up to the tour to ensure she was prepared to meet our needs. She is endlessly gracious, informed, articulate, caring, and fully committed to giving you the experience of a lifetime. Thank you, Jenny!

Jenny Funnell was totally brilliant! She designed a City walk highlighting inspirational people for our group of coaching colleagues that was not about the usual suspects. Jenny's powers of memory are less astounding when you know she is an experienced actor! As such she brought stories, characters and events to life with wonderful detail and colour, painting vivid pictures of the privations of pre-Victorian London and the astounding individuals who changed things for the better. Jenny's warm, friendly personality and sense of fun made this the most enjoyable guided tour I have ever done! I will go again like a shot and recommend her to my friends.

Thank you Jenny for a wonderful tour around some of the less well travelled parts of the City of London. Loads of interesting information and sights I had never seen before, especially the reflective pool near St Pauls. Excellent.

Fascinating talk and tour of the Roman Baths in Billingsgate. The hidden gem in London you never knew you really should visit.
A must see and experience for all history buffs!

Our City of London guide was Rosalind Pearson in the Guildhall Art Gallery. She began with the history of the building and the art collection, and then focused on certain pictures, giving our group detail of the artist, the context, the symbolism and the technique. We finished in the Roman amphitheatre in the basement.

I joined one of the walks organised for Local London Guiding Day where newly qualified guides meet the public. We were led by a lady called Jenny Funnel.
It was fascinating. Jenny covered topics including its drinking water supply, the lady Fanmakers, Christopher Wren and the Royal Exchange.
All conducted clearly, audibly and professionally.
