Description:

Ripping Yarns have been the leading Jack the Ripper tour into Whitechapel...

Ripping Yarns have been the leading Jack the Ripper tour into Whitechapel for over 25 years. We remain a small Company who believe that small Group Sizes and personal interaction will surpass your expectations, as opposed to the Larger Advertised Companies who now Operate in the area. The Tour is recommended in the Rick Steves Guide book to London. The cost is just £8.00, Where else could you get a great night in London for that price? But perhaps the best measure of the Tour comes from our many customers. which are a fitting testament to the level of satisfaction. All the Guides are serving Yeoman Warders (Beefeaters) at the Tower of London, so you can be assured that your Guide knows how to conduct a tour properly and "tell a tale" the content is such that it weaves the story of Jack the Ripper, the social background and the history of the area, helping to paint the most vivid mental picture of life and death in London's East End, this is backed up by Crime Scene Photographs, Letters and Evidence, you will not just get some "off pat script" or gimmicks but an up close and personal story.

We have done a lot of ghost walks but this was really good, it was so interesting. Brilliant tour guide. Make sure if its winter you wrap up warm and wear sensible shoes.

We had a brilliant tour with our tour guide Johnny. We even dressed for the part. He had visuals that he projected on walls that made it even more interesting. Would highly recommend.

We had a brilliant evening walking around Whitechapel with our very knowledgable guide. He not only showed us all the ripper locations but also lots of amazing old buildings. These guys are all Beefeaters from the Tower of London and it was interesting to chat to him about that too. Well worth booking this tour. The only downside for us... More

A good experience even on a very cold night. We did this as a school tour - 2 adults and 7 school kids. All enjoyed. Very well led by our guide, expert and storyteller Mick! All done in an interesting and lighthearted way.

It was already the second time I booked this tour, I just love the atmosphere in the dark streets of London. Johnny was a great tourguide, who shows his passion for the story of Jack the Ripper. really enjoyed it! the only problem is, that the groups are very big, we were maybe about 40 people I guess. so you... Have been talking about doing one of these for years. Researched and picked this one because it's done by Yeomen Warders. Could not have been more impressed with our guide Matt. His knowledge on the topic and the City of London was beyond reproach. The 2 plus hour walk in the misting rain flew by. Not only were the Ripper... More

Yes it's touristy, but this tour was great. Jimmy, our guide, was not only a wealth or knowledge, but was just the right amount of funny, and very engaging. The tour itself is lengthy, ours was 2 hours, so be prepared to walk. You'll see some parts of London that are definitely off the beaten path, and at night they're... More

This tour ticked the boxes for me for 3 reasons 1. Simon was our private guide. I saw other tours heaving with people. Ours was a small, very intimate group. 2 Simon was a beefeater who lived and breathed London history. He lived opposite in the Tower of London and had an encyclopaedic knowledge on Jack the Ripper and U.K... More

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
