    Family friendly cat cafe
Friendly staff. They were all very helpful and you could tell they loved the cats in the cafe. It was great being able to take our young daughter as no other cat cafes allowed under 10 year olds. She really enjoyed her time at the cafe.

    Delicious afternoon tea!
My partner and I visited for afternoon tea and had a wonderful time! The food was delicious and very filling - lots of lovely sweet treats. I also thought it was incredibly clean considering there are 10 cats wandering around! The staff gave a thorough introduction of the cats and were really friendly. The cats were also lovely. Most of them hovered around for a sniff and to be petted, but it was just lovely to see how happy these little animals are.

    Cat cafe visit
Visited Whiskers & Crème for the first time as part of a voucher treat. Thought the staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the resident cats. There was a food & drink menu with a selection of drinks (alcoholic drinks as well) and food. We found the food and drink service quite slow and it also took around nearly an hour for my wife to get her baguette (though the staff did apologise as it was forgotten off the order). Even still, 30+ mins to wait for coffees is quite a while to wait… it’s also around £5-6 for a sandwich or baguette. Seemed a little expensive to us but perhaps that’s the norm for that area of London. At the end we were told our time was up but if we wanted to pay an extra £4 each we could stay another 1/2hr. II think this could have been waived given the issues with the order but we declined anyway as we had to leave for the train back. Food and waiting times aside it was an enjoyable experience and the cats were lovely. Most likely a must visit for true cat lovers!

    Amazing experience
Absolutely loved my visit here. The cats were well looked after, so cute and I fell in love with the newest kitten Teddy. Everyone that worked there were friendly and very knowledgeable about all the cats in their care. The food was very yummy, definitely recommend the cossaint with cheese, ham and tomatoe and the lemon drizzle cake. Would 100% go back again

    Cute little find
It was quick and easy to book (you need 24 hours+ for afternoon tea reservations), and we were warmly welcomed on entry. You need to sanitise your hands, and enter through 2 doors to keep the cats inside. We were seated and given a menu, then the hostess explained about all the cats and their quirks, with their pictures on the menu. The newest addition was a 5 month old kitten! The cats all seem happy, and most move around, play and come and say hi. There are also spaces for them to relax away from customers when they're not in the mood for pets. The rules explain that food should be covered if left on the table alone, as some cats like to try it! It was a great concept; some cats are the owners and some are rescues. Unfortunately the coffee / hot chocolate machine was down, which was such a shame as they have many hot chocolate choices with cream and marshmallows! The cakes and pastries all looked great and homemade. The soft drinks were a little pricey at £3 for a can of lemonade.

Cream tea and cats - what more could you ask?
This was the start of my daughter’s hen do. We had a delightful cream tea with lots of interesting cats. Trixie spent our entire time there snuggled into my daughter’s lap, purring loudly. The cafe was scrupulously clean and well managed, the staff very attentive, friendly and helpful, and the feline furries were wonderfully themselves in true cat manner. It was a relaxing and bonding way to start off our event-filled day and evening.

We came to the cat cafe expecting a fun experience for our daughters eighth birthday. Having navigated the pre-book system and shedded out over £200 for 6 of us in advance we were disappointed. We were seated in the basement - where the cats are not. They seem to like the ground floor/ main area of the cafe. The service was slow- our food came quickly but drinks took a long time, bizarrely two lemonades took the longest to arrive and only appeared after the waitress was given a nudge. The requested jugs of water never arrived.

We pre- ordered the cream teas- the only option as we were a group of 6. As our order was over lunch time we had hoped to eat some lunch. But the sandwiches were limited to 3 crustless finger sandwiches per person. They were tasty- we just wished there were more! We also had 2 scones each accompanied by the measliest portions of jam and cream. We were told if we wanted more to ask for more. We asked for more but like the cats and the water none came. In the spirit of a fair review the cream teas also came with a shot glass filled with sorbet, another filled with a cheesecake mixture, a mini brownie and mini carrot cake each. Unfortunately what we all really wanted was lunch. We did ask for more sandwiches but were told we had eaten our quota and that anything more would be extra.

It would be great if as a large party we could have eaten from the a la carte menu- with regular food much like the rest of the cafe but this wasn't an option.
They have a rule that any table of six or more must order the cream tea, the a la carte menu is on offer but must be ordered on top of the cream tea.
Very bizarre. If they could take this as a fair criticism - maybe offering a different lunch option for large parties would go a long way.

The biggest disappointment was being seated in the basement. The cats seem to like upstairs more and for the majority of our time in the cafe this is where they stayed. We had been told that if we wanted to interact with the cats we could go upstairs. Or a waitress would try and lure them down.
Customers upstairs were having a great time with the cats, a kitten curled up on someone's lap, another pair of cats cuddling on one of the spare chairs as a couple ate. The problem is when you head upstairs you aren't just entering into the cats area- but other peoples dining area. While most were accommodating, it's very awkward trying to navigate petting a cat while someone else is eating their lunch at the same table.

We had asked (as advised) a couple of times for a waitress to lure cats down and after complaining about the food and lack of cats the clearly disgruntled waitress lured 3 cats downstairs with treats. This was at approximately 1 hr into our visit; the visits are broken into 90 minute slots. So for 2/3 of our visit we had only seen one cat sniffing around a couple of times, the remaining cats all stayed upstairs.

The kids enjoyed playing with the cats to an extent, but once the treats were eaten two of them drifted back upstairs. The sad truth is- it's an uneven experience between upstairs and downstairs and without the cats the very average but very expensive food becomes the focus. The staff were inattentive and visibly annoyed when we raised concerns. They were either blissfully unaware of the lack of cats downstairs or didn't really care. They only responded to our concerns when we raised them
A number of times. The manager seemed powerless to act on any complaints, repeating the mantra "That's the owners decision".
As our ninety minutes finished we were asked by the manager if we had finished. We asked if we could we take away the vast quantity of uneaten dry scones. (At £35 per head we might as well try and make the most of our money) she said of course, but like the water and the cats and the jam and the cream it didn't happen. We left pretty annoyed and disappointed at an over priced and uneventful "experience".
Would not recommend.

Absolute rip off. Seated in a basement with no cats. Told we were welcome to walk around and see the cats who were all upstairs. Not what I paid a lot of money for. Absolute rip off. Cats were sweet but couldn't play with them without having to leave our table and stand around. Not as described on the website

Dear Helen Further to your email I am replying with a slightly amended response on Tripadvisor. I am sorry that you were unhappy with your table allocated. When you book online tables are automatically allocated in order of when you book so people who were sat upstairs booked before you. We had no vacant tables to move you to. Like a huge number of establishments in central London including another cat café we have a basement. We have decorated it with the same care and attention as the ground floor and it is well ventilated. Many café/restaurants are only in the basement. I have checked our CCTV and your statement that there were NO cats is untrue. Amongst other cats throughout your visit you had Oscar in the carrier at the edge of your table for your whole visit and I could see your children visibly happy whilst stroking him. They were also under the table playing with another cat who I can't see and Vanilla and Arti were very present. I could also see one of the cats asleep at the table next to you. We encourage customers to walk around and meet all the cats as they have a will of their own but you actually a good percentage of cats in your immediate vicinity without even having to leave your table. Cats won't automatically come to every person at their table . You will need to make some effort to meet them. We offered to refund your booking fee if you wanted to leave but you decided to stay as your children were happy, their smiles on the CCTV confirm their enjoyment. Other people sat on the same floor as you expressed their satisfaction and enjoyed their visit. I am sorry you were unhappy with your visit to Whiskers & Cream but I remain unable to refund your session fee as you stayed for your session leaving us unable to reuse your table. Your children also were clearly making the most of their visit and interacting with the cats and were visibly happy. in response to your comment 'rip off' I would add we are by far the cheapest cat café in London (and not the only one with a basement) and we include a drink within the 90 minute session. We rely on our session fees to meet our high running costs. Kay Owner/Director

My wife and I were bought an afternoon tea voucher for this cat café as a present in 2022 although we struggled to find a time to visit London to use it. The Café owners were kind enough to extend the date for three months so we could use it, and we had a lovely time.

The ten resident cats were kept safe through a double door entry system and after a long journey across London we just made our appointment in time, which covered 90 minutes on a Friday afternoon. We were given a table by the window, which was airy and bright, although that generally meant we had to move elsewhere to get much interaction with the kitties, who were mainly located in other parts of the building. We decided to eat our food first and then spend the rest of the time playing with the cats.

The afternoon tea was tasty and filling and the staff were kind enough to box up some of the cakes for us to take away when we got full. Our voucher included a drink and we both went for a hot chocolate, which was nicely presented and tasty.

The staff briefed us on the different cats and their history although it's worth noting that some of the cats come with specific instructions (mainly on where you can touch them - I guess cats will be cats...we have four ourselves and know they can be fussy). The Devon Rex sat in the window by our table but clearly wasn't in the mood for attention, well it was the end of a hot day.

The two Maine Coons were gorgeous although one of them needed a good grooming as his fur was full of knots. Oscar the Tonkinese made a few appearances but mainly just going in and out of the cat flap downstairs, pacing up and down and disappearing again. Most of the other cats were asleep on chairs and in boxes and weren't interested in playing or responding to toys etc.

We wandered around the café to see the various kitties and we had a lovely time, just a little disappointed the cats did not really want to interact - but as stated it was a warm day and as we were visiting quite late in the day it wasn't a total surprise the cats just wanted to rest.

Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. We aren't local to the area so it's unlikely we will be back, but we did enjoy our visit and would certainly revisit if we lived more close to north London. The café is easily reachable from the London Overground and Northern Line services. Well worth a visit if you love cats.
