Neighbourhood: Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.

- mala tMelbourne, Australia54 contributionsThe highlight of my Europe holiday! We had a great night of eating drinking, singing and dancing. We had Will as our truly delightful waiter who just added to the whole experience. I had purchased the flower head wreaths ahead of time and saw lots of people dressed up with feather boas or the full on abba outfits. We went for the blue and white theme of the Greek isles, but wearing anything was fine.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 13 October 2023
- Connector63514218 contributionsBest night out in London, by a long way.We have seen almost all of the musicals and top shows in London but this has to rate as one of THE BEST evenings by a long way. Delicious food, wonderful and very talented staff and the setting inside is simply beautiful. There is nothing quite like this anywhere and if you are a fan of food, Mamma Mia or Abba, then you WILL have a great time. Quite an expensive night but worth every single penny.......Will definitely be going back.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 October 2023
- Sarlou115 contributionsFeel good fun night, but expect restricted views even at top price ticketsThe show is interactive and we did have a good time, however we paid for top price seats but they were restricted with a very big pillar. None of the table could see some of the areas the singers were stood at. The food was nice, service was good. It is pot luck as to where your seated and the experience depends on that. I agree with a few of the reviews that the management team do not care at all and really need to look at the wording and pricing, I think it is false advertising when describing the views and restrictions it claims you will have depending on the tiers. It’s a good feel party night, have a great time but expect not to see everything.Visited August 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 26 October 2023

- charlie9UkVeinticinco de Mayo, Argentina27 contributionsJust one of the best nights ever! This was the best night I have had for a long time., we had a table of 8 near the fountain. The singing wa superb, service excellent, and food lovely (I am vegan). I do understand if you got a table with a pillar it might be different but I think it is what you make of the night. The dancing amazing, the effects fantastic. Thank you everyone, even the security guard at the fountain was great fun! Well done.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 19 November 2023
- Ellie SmithLeicester, United Kingdom66 contributionsNot worth the money, but okay experienceDefinitely not worth the money when you can go see a London show at west end for less and get a longer show. The staff were lovely and friendly, can’t deny that and they introduce themselves and can’t do enough for you. Drinks were pricey and food was small with no multiple choice option, just vegetarian or normal. Tables are soo crammed together that you’re bumping into people as you pull out your chairs and not a lot of room to move and so many things on the tables that there’s hardly anywhere to put your bag or drinks down. Turnover is quick to get your plates out of the way ready for the next act and course. The show itself felt very short and not that great compared to a west end show. I’ll admit it’s a very close experience, we booked the tier A tickets and were right in the middle. The actors do come right by you and make eye contact, and clap you on the shoulder and dance and sing right next to you but then they move, and you have to turn in your seats to hardly see them on the other side of the room, but i guess that’s just something you have to get over. If anyone were to go, i’d recommend the balcony seats because you’ve got an ariel view and will see everything and they still come up there in a bit of the show so that’s cool. We had very rowdy/noisy people near us that had to be told by security to settle down as it still is a show, you can’t just talk through it. I just think they could bring the price down so a few more people can justify affording it and going in these times. The after party was okay, just a dj playing abba songs with the lights off and i suppose it gives you somewhere to be rather than just going home.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 24 November 2023

- kathyjon1965173 contributionsImmersive experience 5 starsFantastic night. We were tier B tickets 5 of us seated together on a lower terrace next to the fountain so very central with great views of the whole area. The setting is beautiful and staff amazing. We were worried about the food after reading reviews on here but it was all good. The lamb & beef was so tender and plenty of it with gorgeous potatoes and vegetables. My friend doesn’t like lamb so they gave her double beef. We had jugs of water (free) and I ordered my bottle of wine via the app. Had no issues with the app once I logged onto O2 Wi-Fi. Wine was £35 then they add 10% service charge so £38.50. You pay on the app too. My friends placed their order with the waiter and just before end of show he came across with their bill which also had the 10% service charge added. The show ended around 10pm then immediately it’s a disco where people can get onto the small stage they build halfway through the performance over the fountain. We were on a bus tour from the north east of England which included travel, hotel with breakfast and our entrance tickets. Bus took us to O2 and return to hotel after the show then into central London next day for a few hours. Total cost £265 pp. Well worth the money brilliant night.Visited November 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 27 November 2023

I went here Sunday afternoon for the matinee. I think perhaps the matinee guests are shortchanged as everything I have read about Mamma Mia the party says that the performance is 4 hours and then 1 hour disco. Matinee started at 12 but, in reality, we were not allowed in until 12 and by the time everyone was seated, ordered drinks, had the meze and the starters it was about 1 p.m.. before the performance started. There is a short break while they serve the mains and the dessert and then the performance finished at 3.30 and we had the disco until 4.30. The show is so brilliant you don't want it to end so it was disappointing that we actually only had about 2 hours of performance!! As I say not sure we were short changed for the matinee performance as certainly the evening performances seem to start on time and go on till 1030. The show really is sensational - the staff all join in too and it is totally immersive and fun. The food is brilliant and there is so much of it - and you can ask for more!! We had the choice of ouzo or sparkling blush wine on arrival and the cheapest bottles of wine were £26 - but there is a service charge added to this making it nearer £30. They also bring bottles of tap water to the table. The waiters and waitresses were lovely and all of them seemed to be having as much fun as we were. The cloakroom is free!! As I say the only downside was feeling let down about the length of the performance. Also could not make much sense of their seating plan online so thought the expensive £156 seats would be worth it but, in fact, it is possible to get a good view from any of the balcony seats and the guests there were up and dancing throughout so think we would have probably been okay with the £95 tickets.

This experience is not to be missed. Put it on your bucket list. It is expensive but well worth every penny. I loved that it was a ticketless event, we were greeted at the entrance and given table and seat numbers, once inside there was a free cloakroom and then through a set of doors into the taverna. A welcome drink awaited us and we were shown to our table where our waitress introduced herself and explained the format for the evening. We shared a table of six with another couple and two ladies who were all great fun. Then came the food!! This was in abundance and fantastic......four courses and if you run out of anything all you have to do is ask for more, we didn’t need to there was so much food none of us could eat it all. It was typically Greek, well cooked and well presented. Be warned alcohol was expensive but we were there for a celebration so were not bothered about the prices. The bar is cashless and we were given our bill at the end of the show, any drink we wanted after that had to be bought and paid for at the bar. The show itself was brilliant, the cast worked hard, the waiters and waitresses were all part of the show and worked hard to ensure you had good table service and enjoyed the show. We had premium band A tickets and were seated on a terrace with good all round views, some seats have a restricted view but these are minimal and this is reflected in the ticket price (you can always shuffle a little bit). All in all we had a great time and danced the night away at the end of the show where some tables are cleared away for a dance floor. Would we do it again? Yes we would.........go, and have fun.

Just awesome - the set, actors, music, food and atmosphere just totally amazing. From the minute you arrive with a warm welcome and complimentary drink you could be forgiven for thinking you are actually in Skopelos!
There are three seating areas and price bands 1) floor (where play is performed), 2) upstairs and 3) side. We booked tables at the side and you had a good view. The food is typically Greek (as you would expect) ad they can cater for Vegetarians and allergies etc. You begin with starters and then the performance begins and then breaks for mains and later again for dessert and coffee.
Be aware of drinks prices - I ordered a glass of wine without checking the menu and the bill at the end was £14!!!!!!!
The story is slightly different to the original film but if you love ABBA (and maybe if you don't - what's wrong with you lol!) then you will have a blast, Even the waiting staff join in with the singing and it really is a party to remember.
At the end you can dance with the cast and when they leave the party just continues!
I was so touched to see a young man in the audience who I believe had Autism , singing along during the performance. The actors made a point of coming over to see him and do selfies etc and talk to him. Even the waiting staff were so thoughtful towards him. After the show he stood by the bar and him and his family knew all the moves to the songs. Everyone copied him and were cheering and you could see he was loving it all. I guess he was a Super Trouper!
PS If this was you son, you should be very proud!!!

We went as a group of 6 friends aged between 50 and 60. Our tickets were around £179 each and we have been very much looking forward to the Mama Mia party since last year.
When we arrived at the venue we were surprised that we had to queue for 20 minutes to get in considering everyone had booked in advance.
I have to say the venue is decorated beautifully, we were shown to our table and devastated to see we had two pillars in front of us , one to the right and one to the left .
We had not been informed about an obstructed view at all. We were unable to see most of the show and at one point the waitress asked us to go with her and stand near the bar to get a better view of the trapeze artist , we didn't even know she was there as we couldn't see her at all for our table.
When we complained the waitress who was very nice got the delightful (not) Charlotte the venue manager to come to see us, she brought with her a security man . They were both very intimidating and made us feel like we were complaining just to get something for free.
She then bullied us into paying the drinks bill there and then, the security man was waiting for my card to be declined I'm sure, they were very heavy handed and not helpful at all.
This is not the review we expected to be giving today. So disappointing.

Having been to the O2 arena to experience the mama Mia party last night I feel that I must review the night for people to be aware of the appalling Management.
On arrival there was a 20 minute queue to get into the event,we were then shown to our table no 85 to find that there were 2 huge pillars one to the left and 1 to the right which served to completely obscure our view. We complained about this to the waitresses (who was very nice) and she in turn referred us to the event manager Charlotte. I can only say that this person had no people skills at all and treated us appallingly. We were made to feel like criminals for daring to complain. We were subjected to extremely heavy handed treatment with the manager speaking to us like dirt, she brought a bouncer to our table who tried to force us out of the event by putting his hand on my friend and sister in an extremely threatening manner and insisting along with the manager that we step outside. This was entirely uncalled for, I would like to point out that we are a group of six ladies ranging from mid 50s to mid 60s and this treatment upset and appalled us. We paid £179 each for the tickets an were at no point told that we would have a restricted view. All in all this was upsetting and disappointing, especially considering we booked this over 6 months ago and had travelled all the way from south Wales to attend. My advice to anyone wanting to go to this eventis dont sit at table 85 or complain as you will be hounded.

While I can see reviews are largely positive we were incredibly disappointed with our afternoon . I do believe that the measure of company’s professionalism is how they deal with things when they go wrong . The people operating the party are not
interested in minority opinions and are quite frankly arrogant . They seem to be of the opinion that as reviews are largely positive they do not have to deal with the odd complaint as it makes no difference to them . I have never had a complaint completely ignored before and if you look through the negative reviews they quite often tell a similar story .
Without doubt the room looks gorgeous and the food is great . Which it should be for the price . Alcohol is expensive but I would expect that to be the case at this type of event . Most people in our group were not really drinking and tap water is free .
We had Band B tickets , the ref to aprox where we would be sat seem to have changed from when we booked and there is now a crude seating chart on the site . We were seated on the balcony . Half the table sat behind a huge pillar . The actors do move around but if you can’t see the fountain you miss a lot of the show . The chart seems to indicate these are Band B or D tickets . How does that work as Band D are £50 less pp we paid £170
The table next to us were band C and had a much better view ??
We expressed are dissatisfaction and were ignored initially . They eventually brought the manager who had no interest in sorting out the problem .
We managed to move to the other side without pillars but by this time most of the show had already been NOT seen ( I can listen to Abba on my phone )
They then gave us the wrong bill , followed by another one that had a vodka on they insisted we had . Nobody on the table drinks vodka and we only had a couple of wines and a lager between us !!
By the time this had been sorted we missed going down to see the cast dancing on the platforms .
The afternoon was just generally spoilt with all the messing around . Did not think show was that good but then this might have been because of the way we were treated .
I sent an email after which was first ignored and then got a reply saying we were sat in the right seats and the show moves around . It does but not that much !
I replied but have been ignored . They don’t care because of all the great reviews . Treating people in this way is disgusting .

Four us booked this as presents to each other. Before going, I read lots of reviews which varied hugely and quite clearly lots of people had not bothered reading about the show beforehand.
Our waiter (Jaio) was fantastic, informing us that it is an all you can eat meal and if you require more of anything, just ask - we did indeed have more of a couple of dishes and this was not a problem. Our drink orders were taken and delivered promptly and all in all we all found the service great. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food, to serve so many people at roughly the same time is amazing!
We paid for Band B tickets and had a wonderful table for just the four of us. It does clearly state that you could be sat with other people and even if you are group, may not be able to sit altogether depending on size. If this is very important for you then perhaps it is not the right place to go to.
It clearly states in the FAQ that some courtyard band A tables are moved at the end of the show to make way for the dancefloor - people still claim they did not know!
It also clearly states that a discretionary 12.5% service charge will be added to your bill.
We all had a wonderful evening and will talk about it for a long time to come. Would recommend it to people who are up for a fun time.

Had a lovely time in a group of 6 friends. It’s a lovely set, with a happy Greek feel, and felt like a special treat. There was a good amount of food served and the performance, albeit with a thin storyline, was enjoyable with good actors/singers. However, there were two in our party who had noted dietary requirements (1 vegetarian and 1 nut free). Whilst the rest of the food appeared to be excellent, the vegetarian main and the nut-feee dessert were poor. For the price, this was very disappointing. In this day and age, very common dietary requirements such as this should not mean that taste/quality of food is compromised. It certainly felt that this was the case. The only other negative for me was the restricted view. At £160 a ticket I did not expect to be able to see very little for most of the show. I went to stand in a corner away from the table on several occasions to be able to see. Overall, enjoyable, but worth the price? I’m unsure!

It's not cheap, but remember you are getting a meal as well as an up-close immersive performance. We had Band A tickets and were seated at a table for 8, though with only 6 attendees - this meant there was a huge amount of food (surprisingly good quality), and plenty of elbow room. We were situated between the fountain and the stage, which was a great position. The cast literally brushed passed me as they sang. This is not the plot of the musical, but don't let that worry you - it's just a vehicle for some jokes and Abba songs.
If you like Abba's music, and liked Mamma Mia, you will thoroughly enjoy the evening

Birthday treat for bff. We both loved it, the decor was fabulous, gorgeous greek taverna setting, and the food was really good. Plenty of choice and plenty of it. A glass of prosecco at £7 a glass was also not outrageous for London prices. We did have cheaper seats, and yes, there was a pillar in view, but as the show is acted out around you and the actors are very interactive, diddn't feel this was a big problem. Was free to get up and dance in aisles once dinner was finished. All in all had a fabulous time and would definately go again.

As the cast are always around, how do you get additional drinks during the show?
Written 2 December 2024
Just grab a server they are always around and will take your order or send someone else over - we had no issues when we went

I see the event lasts for four hours, this seems very long compared to the running time of the musical, how does it break down?
Is it an hour of singing, then food then more singing etc?
Four hours seems like a very long event

The show starts at 1930 with Meze nibbles and then there is a break for the main course so the show does not overlap this.main performance finishes around 2145 and then an Abba disco until 2300 - many people left after the live show finished but you can stay if you wish

Hi, sorry I’m not sure.
Perhaps look at the seating plan?
In any case, you will have an amazing time as apart from eating, you’ll all be up dancing anyway!
Don’t forget to make your want the centre -water fountain after food as this is transformed into an elevated dance floor 💃💃

As a couple we expect to be sitting with some one else but do we have to share the food with the others?
Written 30 September 2024
Hi Gillian- I don’t think so- we had a table of four for just us. It’s a good question… and something I’d be asking clarifying for.
I think that as you’ve paid separately- the food would be just for you two. Hope this helps

Hi Susan
Where were you seated and did you have any obstructions?
Written 25 September 2024
We were seated to the left of the fountain -ground floor level. When the show ends -the fountain is transformed into an elevated dance floor where all the audience can go up onto and dance. It’s an amazing show

You get extra things with the pack, I am not sure what. We didn’t get that and had an amazing time with the floor seating.
