Billy the Beefeater made the experience for us! So informative, dry witted and professional. I have wanted to take our children to experience what I did about 30 years ago and they loved it too!

For a foremost, I am a traveler on a budget who usually skips the paid attractions, but made sure not to skip this one. I'm a bit of a Tudor geek, so I absolutely loved spending the afternoon here. My boyfriend who couldn't tell you much about England's history, loved it as well. The guided Yeomen Warder tour was the... More

We went here on my birthday and what a great treat. Fabulous place to see the Crown Jewels are amazing. Lots to see and the history is fantastic. We had a great time. Get your tickets on line cheaper and no queuing. One tip go early it gets busy at lunch time.

This was a highlight on our visit to London. If you are going make sure you join one of the tours that the warders take regularly as they bring the visit to life. There's so much to see and do allow a few hours for your visit.

Well finally myself and daughter went around the tower of London. First of all a must see for all visitors to the UK also to ghe people who actually live here. We all get different things out of various locations we visit but one thing I must stress take the beefeater tour which run from the entrance every 30 minutes.... More

Wasn't sure if I wanted to go to this, but I am so glad I did! We spent hours looking around. We started out with a Beefeater doing a large group tour. We were going to just go on ahead with the provided audio devices, but I'm glad we spent a little time on the tour. Our guide was informative... More

We prebooked our tickets online which helped us save a few quid as London is expensive enough! Having arrived at 10am we headed straight for the crown jewels as we thought they would be one of the busier attractions. They were amazing, as it was quiet we got a couple of goes on the moving walkway that runs alongside them.... More

We stopped in and spent 3 hours there with two children, ages 10 and 8. The kids liked the interactive section in the white building. It isn't much, but gave them the opportunity to try shooting a virtual bow and arrow, dressing a king in armor, and shooting a virtual cannon. Lunch at the cafe was reasonably priced with great... I enjoyed my day trip here, although i have a bad knee and i found it quite strenuous as there were a lot of stairs. There was not as much accessibility to the old prison cells as i thought, but the crown jewels and the Beef Eater tour are not to be missed.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
