Brilliant informative and funny tour, definitely made the trip. Very worthwhile going round - remember to use the 2 for 1 if you've come in by train. We spent a few hours there but my Mum and sister spent most the day there.

Excellent and very interesting. Definitely the highlight of our trip to London. Cost us 50 sterling ( 25 each ) but we spent well over two hours here lots of interesting facts about the tower and really well laid out . We didn't get the guided tour but there was no need as there was facts in every room to... More

I was in awe. The history was incredible and humbling. Absolutely beautiful. Will always be super busy so, probably a better idea to go during the week

Plan to spend a couple of hours here to see everything, for there is more to it than just the crown jewels. But, plan to make this your first thing to see on one of your days sightseeing; going early avoids the crowd that will inevitably grow by mid-morning. And, by going early, you stand the best chance of having... More

We really enjoyed our visit to the Tower of London. So much history in one place. We thought it was fantastic to see the Crown Jewels. The audio guide was very informative. Just disappointed that because of the weather there were no tours. After seeing the umbrellas I can understand why. Will definitely be back.

Get there early to avoid the crowds. We didn't advance purchase our tickets but didn't have to wait very long at the ticket booth. It was getting quite busy by the time we left so a good idea to get in early.

There is plenty to see and do here! We had prepaid for the audioguides which were interesting but found them a bit too heavy on information and not as easy to engage with those you are visiting with. It was easy to transfer onto one of the regular yeoman tours which was more entertaining while providing information! Thank for for... More

Visited the Tower of London today having walked past it many times. We used the 2 for 1 voucher along with an SWT train ticket meaning it cost £25 for two adults. The closest tube station for the tower is Tower Hill. There is a free tour starting from just inside the entrance. This is led by the Yoeman Warders... More

We have been to the Tower of London on many occasions with and without children. I prefer taking the grandchildren and filling theirs heads full of history. Save money by buying tickets online and in advance if possible. We always take a packed lunch to save some money.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
