By coincidence, I visited on Florence Nightingale's birthday, which on purpose is International Nurses Day so there was extra activity, a talk by a woman in character as her! The exhibits were all very interesting.

Yes really pleased to have come here. It wasn’t expensive £10 each for concessions. I actually leant a lot about Florence Nightingale and the Crimean war. Spent about 1.5 hours here. I would certainly recommend

I visited some four months ago, but am struck by how much I remember from the museum. Guide Rhiannon was kind enough to put on a guided tour just for me, and we ended up talking about a very diverse range of nineteenth-century topics. Thank you also for the recommendations of other places to visit.

What a great museum of an outstanding woman.
There are plenty of excellent displays that are well labelled.
During our visit, there was a school group there that was being guided by a lady dressed like Florence. She was excellent and it was wonderful to hear and see the kids filled with enthusiasm.

This is a fascinating museum about the life of one of the world's most well-known nurses, Florence Nightingale. The museum explores her life through different sections, with various artifacts from each period of her life.

My one complaint concerns a school group that was at the museum that morning, which was guided by a woman portraying Florence Nightingale. While it was undoubtedly a lovely experience for the children, who seemed very engaged, it was really distracting for me. On the one hand, I was interested by it, but on the other I wanted to explore the museum by myself, so found myself of two minds - with one part of my brain wanting to listen to the presentation for the kids, while the other was trying to read up on the displays but unable to concetrate.

On my way out I advised the employee at the ticket desk that they shold inform visitors if a school group was coming, so they can choose to come later if they wished to avoid the noise. She told me they normally do warn visitors in advance, and it seems like they neglected to warn me.

I was very impressed with all the detailed presentation in the life of Florence. What an amazing woman. I was fortunate enough to be there when there was a school education lesson for maybe 7 year old. The Educator was dressed as Florence and gave these kids an insight to her life. It was fantastic.
Well worth the visit😁

This was a long awaited trip to this unique museum as my partner is a retired nurse and has always wanted to visit this place. FN was an amazing Victorian polymath who defied convention to become an iconic figure.

There’s a lady working very hard at playing Florence Nightingale and she does a good job walking around talking to visitors. The layout is all over the place so it’s not the easiest museum to follow. It’s fairly small scale but with plenty of displays. Some of the narrative is very low down, in small print and in a dark environment so I couldn’t quite read everything. Gives some useful background on the lady and her standing within Victorian society.
