Though once owned by the family of Princess Diana, this is now a showplace and event space. Still, if you like elegant decor, the tour was the way to go. Only open one day a week, Sunday, it's important to plan ahead.

Came here with high expectations to visit the house and the gardens but was much disappointed. The tour guide (old lady with short hair) was not at all professional nor interesting. She gave random and false facts about paintings in the house, such as mixing...More

We decided to visit because the small garden is open for 2 days this year and a visit to the house and garden seemed appealing. We were not disappointed. We had a wonderful guide in the house. He was a very well informed blue badge...More

While Spencer House is not easily found, it's well worth the search (it's located very near St. James's Palace and the Green Park). We had a wonderful tour through this mid-18th century great house. Jo Ann was our guide on this hour-long tour through history...More

The guide was excellent and she gave a warm and entertaining account over more than an hour. Commissioned by the young, wealthy and ambitious John Spencer in the mid 1750s, the grand Palladian mansion was created. The first architect designed the facade and the ground...More

Despite having walked past this house many times, we didn't realise it was open to visit (Sundays only) until a friend visiting from overseas booked tickets for us. The house has been sympathetically restored, with many of the original features that were removed to avoid...More

Spencer House is only opened on Sundays but it is well worth setting aside time to visit this beautiful house and to hear first hand from the knowledgable guides the fascinating history associated with this house - it is truly amazing.

St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII,
the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier
destination for high end craft and bespoke design.
Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which
indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the
establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during
a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s
Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing
