Neighbourhood: Belgravia
Home to the vast majority of embassies and diplomatic residences in London, sophisticated and upscale Belgravia also boasts a wealth of luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and some of the city’s most stroll worthy lanes. While the prices here are high, taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of picturesque and elegant white stucco houses is free. Hyde Park and the Buckingham Palace Gardens are only a stone's throw away to the north, and some of Europe’s best shopping is nearby as well.

"Harvey Nicks" was first brought to my attention from the 90's TV show Absolutely Fabulous. It is quite a fancy store in the exclusive area of London - Knightsbridge and it is just up the road from Harrods.

The store sells clothes from designers like Jean Paul Gaultier and Stella McCartney. There are a number of floors which are accessible by lifts and escalators. On the top floor there is a bar and place to eat

The store was clean and well presented.

This store is far quieter than Harrods down the road. It’s nice for a browse but the heating was on such a high temperature that I couldn’t stand being inside for too long with a mask and a scarf.

I note that they now have a burger & lobster restaurant on the top floor which is good to know.

We went there between Christmas and New Year. They had huge crowds, maybe because of the after-Christmas sales. No matter. We saw NOTHING special about the store.

The one saving grace might be there cafe upstairs. They actually have two and we found the non-sushi one to be above average.

Maybe you go to say you went, but don't expect much more from the experience.

Having Traveled 250miles to HN Knightsbridge for A Luxury Afternoon Tea which my daughter had bought for me a belated Mothers Day gift purchased direct from the store.
We arrived to be seated in the restaurant which smelled strongly of fish on one of the hottest days of the year , I asked to be moved to the terrace for fresher air . My daughter and I were greated and presented with the menu .....we ordered a cocktail recommended on the ATea menu . I disappeared to the ladies and on my return the cocktail and a pot of tea were sat on the table ......I wondered why the Jasmine tea had arrived the same time as the cocktails.
10 min later our food arrived on a 3 tear cake stand each having our own as my daughter had ordered a vegan AT , by which time my tea had cooled considerably.
On inspection of the food my daughter's sandwich's (three of the fingers )were filled with hummus !!! How appetising and uninspiring, her plain scones which we were told were dairy free and gluten free were the most disgusting things I had ever tasted .
My fruit scones were so over cooked and hard I could have knocked someone out if I had thrown one !!!
The fillings in my sandwiches were so thin it was difficult to guess what was In them or what they tasted off.
The three tiny cakes sat on the top of the cake stand were uninspiring and the one I tasted was synthetic and tasteless .
I have never experienced such a poor Afternoon Tea. I was expecting something much better from such an established company.
I felt very disappointed for my daughter who had wasted her money , I did complain to the restaurant manager who offered us two more cocktails as an apology and he was under the impression that would suffice our poor experience, I had to demand he refunded my daughter her money which he did but not for the full amount she had paid .
He was very condescending which just finished this terrible experience off .
I expected so much much more from Harvey Nichols .

Harvey Nichols department store should be avoided .

There is no atmosphere , staff are rude and when you ask three times for help, you realise they don’t want to help as they have no knowledge of their products .

Staff look unhappy and it does not take long to realise they don’t get on between themselves .

The left hand does not know whet the right hand is doing between staff and managers !!

As we had enough of poor customers services in Harvey Nichols , we went to selfridges and spend all our money there 😜

The first thing that stroke me when I entered the department store was how empty it was ! A complete lack of atmosphere.🥵

From outside, the building is nice and it’s well positioned in Knightsbridge.

So you would expect Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge to be busy like the others department stores .

But then you realise quickly why it is so empty .
Staff ignores you , they chat between themselves and do not pay attention to the very few customers they have

I asked a sales assistant where the changing rooms where, he pointed them out without a word .I felt I interrupted his conversation with his colleagues and I was a nuisance.

When I asked if I could get another size for my trouser, the sales assistant looked at me again as if I was asking too much.

Do they actually get training for their job ??

Do they know Harrods, Selfridges who offer brilliant customers services are minutes away and there is choice of department stores in London….

Be Very Very Careful. My experience at this salon was absolutely appalling. I paid £80 for a simple Gel pedicure with a colour I did not request. When I asked for my nails to be painted in the correct colour I was met with a rude aggressive response from their manager and their Michelle from their customer service had no empathy whatsoever. They insisted that I pay again for an error made on their behalf which goes against the Consumer Rights Act 2015. What was even more frustrating despite placing in writing and explaining to both the Manager and Michelle from Customer Service that I was given the wrong colour they kept on twisting my words by saying " I was unhappy with the colour I had chosen".

I cannot believe how rude Harvey Nichols staff were.

None of the staff greeted us, engaged or tried to be helpful.

We even noticed arguments between them.

If you ask a question or an advice, they make you feel uncomfortable, how they look at you or by the tone of their aggressive voice.

On the day we went shopping, the store was empty when all the other department stores we went on the same day were busy and full of a lovely atmosphere !!!

I ended up not buying anything in Harvey Nichols and we did all our shopping in Selfridges.

After the "expensive, ripp off tourist attraction" called Harrods, we walked to close by "Harvey Nichols".

The "luxury" shop was empty, just some staff standing around and chatting between themselves.

We went to the 5th floor: foodcourt, where it smelled of burnt pizza 🙊 ... small shop where we bought some tea and lemon curd...

Nothing to write home about.
