Near the British Museum, this is a small park in which it's pleasant to sit. Pretty small and can get quite busy due to its proximity to the aforementioned attraction and a long list of university faculties.

Just outside the NE corner . One of the few remaining in the city. Arrive before noon as they run out of eggs which make tasty if messy sandwiches. On a spring-like day, the square is humming.

Russell Square is a fairly small park in the middle of central London that provides a little bit of greenery. It has a little cafe that looks very nice and lots of benches to sit down at. It's a lovely place to catch up with friends.

Dropped in for an early morning coffee and Danish. Excellent coffee that contained more that one bean! The breakfasts looked very good and the lunch pasta menu warrants a return visit. Friendly and helpful staff. Delightful spot and an outside seat in the summer would be very nice.

It is a nice square and you can go through it on your way to the British Museum. February was not the best choice to check this out but it was worth having a look.

February is possibly the wrong month to visit as the square itself didn't seem like anything special. Wouldn't have even gone in if I hadn't seen the word gelato! The Cafe is rather Italian and serves wonderful gelato and pastries. Would visit again.

We came through here leaving the British Museum to see a different neighbourhood. The area is nice and the park is quite nice. There were a few vendors around to buy stuff from.

About a block from the Russell Square tube station this lovely garden and park is the hub of the Bloomsbury neighborhood. Major attractions are within easy walking distance. The British Museum, with one of the greatest collections in the world, is a five minute walk away. Tavistock Square, two blocks away, is the location of Virginia Woolf's former home. Great... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
