WAAAAAY before the 'street food' fad hit London, Greenwich Market was selling high quality world cuisine every day to locals and tourists. They still are, and it's still very tasty. This market also has some interesting arty goods and groceries to peruse. Only downside is that it's on the small side.

An absolute gem of a place to visit! An eclectic mix of food, clothes, household items, new, upcycled, recycled-loved it!!! An historic site Ina beautiful part of London. I'd much rather visit here than Oxford Street ( same shops as everywhere else in the country, just bigger) or any of the big stores. Wonderful place and area. 😂

Greenwich covered market is a treasure of stalls and Independant shops around a cobbled square with a food market at one end the market is a great way to spend a weekend morning before visiting the rest of maritime Greenwich.

Can't find food like it anywhere else! Always something different to try on my lunch break. Cheap price and always get friendly service. But other than the food there's nothing special about the non-food stalls, a lot of antique market stalls & not all are always open. Market itself is usually quiet during the week and more busy at weekends,... More

Great atmosphere. Lots of places to eat but choose the food court I think. Everyone can eat something different. Loads of craft and artisan stalls too. Something for everyone.

I found stall of eggless cake here. It was awesome. Ruby's cake stall. The carrot cake was superb here. Also we could get good choice coffee at a tiny restaurant inside. Great pocket friendly price for espresso to the commuters of the Greenwich area visitors.

Staying in Greenwich

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
