The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
How to get there
  • North Greenwich • 5 min walk

Great fun!

This audio guided tour was great fun. Very interactive and a must for any fan. We visited on a Wednesday lunchtime, due to our schedule, and were the only people there. Don’t let that put you off, it meant we could sing along to our heart’s content without disturbing anyone else. The tour took us about 1 1/4hrs as we could take our time at all the exhibits. I would definitely recommend this exhibition

Visited ABBA Exhibition at the 02. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very interesting, some great photos. We were singing along with the songs and had a few dances. Some great film footage of Abba through various stages of their lives. The one thing missing was the knee high silver boots. A lovely way to spend a rainy afternoon.

Immerse yourself in ABBA's music
Feb 2020
This exhibit from the ABBA Museum in Stockholm is so much better that the South Bank exhibit of the same name that was there a few years ago. The price includes an audio guide which describes each room and offers interviews with the group members and the museum curator, plus all of the songs on each album. After two introductory rooms, each room is devoted to one album. The final room shows a video of ABBA's legacy. It's a great place to go before experiencing Mamma Mia! The Party just next door.

Went to see the guided tour on south bank a couple of years back and it was good. Great guide and a lot of interaction. This one is like an empty museum with really rubbish audio guide. Boring and lifeless. For 20 pound it was a waste of money

Fantastic

An excellent exhibition even if you are not a fan. There is so much information all accompanied by the music of ABBA and other bands of the time. We spent 3.5 hours and could have stayed longer just listening to the music. We were lucky that it was quiet so had chance to see and read everything, including details of other significant events happening throughout the ABBA period. So worth the visit and good value.

We loved the exhibition, I learned a lot of facts about the group and it is so much fun to visit and explore. Do a double feature first visit the exhibition and then attending Mamma Mia the Party!

Good exhibition. Plenty to see.

My wife and I went here today. We almost had the place to ourselves. I booked online beforehand and at £20 each it was quite good value. Each room roughly corresponds with each of their albums, with other rooms devoted to their early days and Eurovision win. It was quaint seeing Katie Boyle - a Margaret Thatcher clone - comparing the contest. The displays were thorough. My wife and I, being old foggies, grappled a bit with the audioguide, but once we had mastered it found it to be very comprehensive. I loved listening again to some of their lesser known tracks, like Eagle. Well worth visiting if you are a fan.
