About
Built in 1905, the Aldwych Theatre has housed many famous productions since its opening, including the first performance of Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard in England, A Streetcar Named Desire starring Vivien Leigh, Tom Stoppard’s Jumpers, Tom and Clem starring Sir Michael Gambon and Alec McCowen and Amy’s View with Dame Judi Dench. In the 2000s it became a popular musical theatre venue housing Fame, Dancing in the Streets and Dirty Dancing, which became the longest running show at the Aldwych so far, with five wonderful years at the theatre. Notable productions in recent years have included Irving Berlin’s Top Hat as well as Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies, both based on Hilary Mantel’s award-winning books, and the Olivier Award-winning Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. The theatre is currently home to the world premiere production of the acclaimed Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, which opened in March 2018.

    Simply the best!! Hehe
Great show about the legend TT. Tells a story of her difficult life through to superstardom as a solo. Music was awesome and the glitz was just fabulous. Didn’t use the bars, so cant comment. Smaller theatre, seats were in dress circle with descent view.

    Tina a thrilling musical
Absolutely brilliant night in a classic setting . Warm friendly and helpful staff . The musical Tina is a fitting moving tribute to a legend . The audience is swept along in an amazing show that covers tge awfulness of childhood abuse and marital abuse in a sensitive but true way . The rise and falll and resurrection of Tina is expertly portrayed by a wonderfully talented cast . To have had the privilege of seeing this show is just fantastic .

    Max for president.
Max - Supervisor from the main circle. My mum was struggling with knee pain in the bleachers. She was visibly upset and in discomfort as she couldn't continue to sit in our seat. This wasn't a problem - after all we booked the seats! We set off to go home and Max went out of his way to see if there was an alternative solution to our problem. He found us some space where she could leave her leg out and allowed us to enjoy the second half of the show. Above and beyond and it meant the world to us. Thank you so much.

    Great West End theatre
My friend and I saw TINA at this theatre a couple of days ago and had such an amazing time. We were lucky enough to secure tickets in the stalls and the show was outstanding. The seats were comfy and we had a great view of the stage. The only issue I would say with this theatre however would be that there are limited refreshments. We saw nowhere to get anything upon arrival and two separate members of staff told us there would be an opportunity to get a drink near our seats. This turned out to be just a small stand set up and I ended up with a lukewarm can of still water, which was far from refreshing! However, the Haagen-Dazs ice cream at the interval was a soothing salve to this experience!! Polite staff, friendly, and a lovely theatre.

    Fantastic performance
We totally loved Tina, my partner booked this as a surprise for Christmas. What a great performance and a lovely theatre. We sat in the Grand Circle Row G - the seats are small with no leg room and that row the seats do not lift up so its hard to get in & out. The rows either side of G the seats lifted making it easier. The performance was excellent and very interesting to learn more about Tina Turner. Had a very enjoyable evening.

    Amazing
Bought our ticket last minute from Piccadilly ticket booth. We satin the stalls, good view of the show. The cast were excellent & the lady playing Tina was absolutely brilliant. She made the hair stand up on the back of my arms either some of the songs. Great storytelling also. Well worth going to see. Don’t let the bad reviews about the theatre staff put you off experiencing an excellent performance.

Great place to see a show.
Went to see Tina the Musical, which is excellent. This a small traditional theatre with a great atmosphere. The staff are welcoming, pleasant and helpful. As one would expect from entertainment refreshments are expensive. It’s a great place to see a show. Public transport, bus or tube or train station at Charing Close within easy walking distance as is Covent Gardens and Leicester sq.

Elesha Paul Moses and the cast at Tina Turner
After an amazing evening watching the show, I HAD to share how totally amazing it was. Elesha Paul Moses was incredible. She put her heart and soul into the performance, making it feel SO real. It brought happy tears to our eyes. The entire cast were fantastic. I never normally write reviews but felt compelled to do so. An incredible evening.

Saw "Tina" musical. Best musical show in London! All the London theatres we visited seem to have been renovated during the covid shut down. So, a beautiful and comfortable theatre.

The theatre only accepts electronic payments and have an e-ticket policy which is far from helpful. Two security guys were checking everyone as they entered the theatre and were rather unhappy with my slow old mobile.
The show was great - Tina The Musical is worth seeing but I would wait until it transfers to a different venue or goes on tour. The theatre itself is small and cramped, the seats are hard and urgently need repadding. The floor rake is almost non-existent. A perfectly average bloke took the seat in front of my wife and completely blocked her view of the stage. I swapped seats and found that at six feet tall I was in the same situation and had a struggle to see the stage.
The worst theatre I have ever been to and I will never return.

Fantastic show!
Clean and tidy theatre.
However, staff did nothing when clearly drunk couple started verbally abusing other patrons. Shocking behaviour that has no place in a theatre and Aldwych staff dodged the issue and failed miserably.
Staff really need to get their act sorted.

Absolutely horrific experience. Literally sang 6 words to Proud Mary and after the interval was asked by manager to leave as he decided I was aggressive because I didn’t agree with his assessment of me. He decided I was guilty. I refused to leave and received dogs abuse for standing up for myself. How righteous the nation is. How utterly devoid of humanity and general sense when their integrity is not questioned. Manhandled like a common criminal out of there (think hog-tied) by the staff and guy impersonating the police (think Wayne Couzens which is an actual crime) I was accused of having mental health issues? Staff and phoney cop are insane. Show ( first half) brilliant but avoid this place like the plague. Law suit pending
