About Westminster Walks
Fun and informative guided walks both in real life and virtual with a born and bred Londoner. Walks include food & drink themed in Soho or Mayfair, pub walks in Little Venice, Belgravia or Clerkenwell plus many other walks off the beaten track in Central London. Bespoke walks can be undertaken or my regular walks can be adapted to start or finish at a preferred location. Walks in Walthamstow and Chingford too.

Joanna’s “Paddington, Pubs, Penicillin, Pineapples and Plaques” virtual tour is great! We connected with friends from the USA for a private tour that was worth every penny. We followed a route that was crammed full of interesting facts and super photos of an area we had known very little about. We even stopped mid-way for a virtual festive drink and an opportunity to ask questions. I would thoroughly recommend the tour for a virtual “change of scene” during these difficult times and for you to choose Joanna as your guide. Thank you for a lovely evening! Julie, family & friends

Thank you Julie for such a wonderful review. I really enjoyed 'leading' it and showing you this part of London. I am so pleased that you all got so much from a virtual walk and hope that you can all soon visit the area in real life.

Booked a walking tour of our local neighbourhood E17 for my wife as a birthday surprise. We both really enjoyed learning more about the history that has shaped the area. Joanna grew up around Walthamstow so is invested in the stories and sights on the route. Highly recommended!

I booked Joanna for a surprise tour of Clerkenwell for my other half’s birthday. There were 23 of us, aged from 5 to 50, as well as a terrible trio of dogs. I expect most guides would have run screaming from where we had arranged to meet, but not Jo. She took everything in her stride and transported us from 21st century London to the mean streets of the capital as they once were. From stampeding cattle to public spectacles of dismemberment, via dodgy medical cures, ghostly tales, sausages, singing coal men, rivers, robbers, Dickens, dippers, pubs, pawnbrokers, railways, bishops, royal favourites... I could go on. We may have only walked a couple of miles but we covered hundreds of years in just 90 minutes. Our tour was tailored from the cafe where we all met - where she had an anecdote about the building that houses it - to our final destination where we were booked for lunch, beneath which the Fleet river gurgles: I don’t think any of us will look at a pub in EC1 without thinking of secret gardens, trapdoors, highwayman publicans and cutthroat thieves. A wonderful morning and totally value for money, working out at around seven quid a head. That’s half the price of an exhibition and about ten times as much fun. I’m hoping to do another tour with her in W1 later this year. 11/10!

Thank you so much Addy. I think this is the best review I've ever received! It is a wonderful advert for the walk too! I really enjoyed sharing with you the sights and history of Clerkenwell on such an unexpectedly sunny day and I am so pleased to hear you all enjoyed it. I do hope to see you on another walk soon.

A very informative and fabulous walk with Joanna who has a wealth of knowledge and it was just so great to get off the beaten track, starting of in Marylebone at a pub I'd never ventured to before which was delightful. Joanna also sends out links and other information following the walk to keep it in mind. I highly recommend.

Very entertaining and informative guided tour of the sights, sounds and - yes - smells of old Walthamstow town. As a resident I was keen to learn more about the history of my little corner of north east London, and Joanna proved to be very knowledgeable - revealing bits I never knew existed, and talking us about the people that made Walthamstow what it is today. Whether you live in Walthamstow or are just curious about E17 this is a great little walk - highly recommended!
