We try to do a trip to HH a few times of year. I love the area surrounding it: so posh and nice. We often spend several hours walking around and taking in the views before going for dinner at one of the great restaurants that flank the park. Definitely a great place for those who wish to get away... More

This is a lovely town with some great independent shops. The park is also lovely but parking is a nightmare

Lose yourself in the paths and forests of hampstead Heath. Easy to get to from the hustle and bustle of a busy London it is a welcome escape to quite, birds and squirrels. Unlike the major city parks it has that bit of a wild feel about it as you wonder amongst the forest. Suddenly you arrive at an opening... More

Kenwood house and gardens is lovely then followed the route of the fleet pass the Hampstead/Highgate ponds, through Kentish town - onto St Pancras church and Kings Cross. Fleet Street and Blackfriars Bridge

Make sure you have your GPS on to find the the viewpoint once out of the Tube. It's windy, so make sure you are dressed properly. Then ramble down to Keats House, stroll around the neighbourhood shops, and either wait in line at the outdoor creperie or step into the pub next door for a pint and their fish and... More

One place for a great vista of London from a height. Hampstead Heath has expanse for walking, running with separate bathing ponds for men and women year round - some do that, then a huge 200feet long Lido for families and single teens and adults of all ages and gender. Great on a hot day. But Kenwood House is a... More

Set high above the city is this rather remarkable high priced little village - an amazing occurrence. We took a walk to introduce us to the neighborhoods history and learned about all the interesting characters that have and now call it home. Worth a few hours of your time to roam.

Just 15 minutes from London's center is Hamstead Heath. A large forest like parkland. Been there for hundreds of years due to a great fresh-water supply. Great shopping and restaurants. Fabulous architecture. One of the most expensive areas of London to live in, but you can visit for free. Parking is tough. Best to go to Hampstead Heath underground station.
