Opened in 1871, the Royal Albert Hall is the world’s most famous stage. It is also one of London’s most iconic and visited tourist attractions.

Over the years, it has been the scene of over 150,000 performances; from Wagner to Sinatra, The Beatles to Beyonce, Muhammad Ali to Adele, and is home to the celebrated BBC Proms.

Whilst the venue is most famous for its shows by night, by day this treasured building is open for coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and guided tours of the building.

Tip for tour ticket holders: Enjoy a 10% discount on items in the Hall’s gift shop and Cafe Bar.

Whatever your taste in music is you'll find it here sometime during the year. Plan your visit and book in advance on the RAH website, Try something different if needs be just to experience the acoustics here, March and November book for the Classical Spectacular, I've been 4 times now and going again in March.

We have all seen in the TV's the famous singers performing at this hall. Having got a chance to see in person was totally amazing. We were stunned to learn the history of this hall and its story of how it had been build, the engineering used for acoustics and so on. At the time of our visit, there was... More

Outstanding venue to see a concert. The architecture is stunning. Not much to visit as you can usually only see it outside. If you are musically inclined this is worth a trip.

This was arguably the highlight of my trip to London. I took the tour and was able to see the Queen's access, waiting room and booth. I also went to the Salvation Army Annual Christmas Show. What a great way to start off the holidays. Albert Hall holds about 5500 people, and to hear everyone singing Christmas carols was simply... More

This is an iconic building steeped in British history. I love this building. No matter what production you go to watch, the RAH is magical. I loved it as a child and now my child has fallen in love with the RAH also. I started 2016 at the Albert Hall with the Nutcracker on Ice and my last visit was... More

A group of singers from the Richmond Choral Society met here for supper prior to singing Messiah. We were shown our table promptly and although the venue was quite full, we were given attentive and friendly service. Cocktails were delicious and the food was appetising, with reasonable portion sizes. We were finished in good time for the concert and there... More

Royal Albert Hall - An extraordinary location you should visit on your next London stay. We saw Messiah from Haendel by Scratch, minor matter if you want only enjoy architecture, technic, organ, surrounding, ... the essence, if you like both :)

Fantastic place to visit. Olde worlde. Amazing and jaw dropping. Went to see the Classical Spectacular and it was a wonderful show. We had booked our seats in a 'box' with pre booked food and the experience was truly memorable. Great for a special occasion.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
