We couldn't see where the prime minister lives as it was gated and of course, the public wasn't allowed in. But, none the less, we had to take a picture of the street sign to show we were there!

Visited in 2016 from the top of the hop on and off bus. Due to the rain we did not disembark. Nice buildings on a well manicured street, in a nice neighborhood. I was surprised that the area wasn't more exclusive.
Downing Sreet can't be visited by the general public as gates block both ends, but we approached from HorseGuards & St. James's Park way and didn't know how to get to the main entrance, so we asked the duty Policemen (armed) behind the gates for...More

The street itself is fenced off so you cannot see the iconic door (at least I could not as there was some construction taking place. The entrance of the street is view able with guards etc fi you just want a photo.
Such a shame you have no chance of getting down Downing Street or seeing the iconic door. Gates cover entrance and armed police so don't even try it!!! You can see the original Downing Street door in the Churchill War Rooms.
I wouldn't go out of my way to visit 10 Downing Street, but if you are in the Westminster area it is worth stopping by for a moment. Although this is one of the most famous addresses in the world, this was by no means...More
I am glad I went by but nothing of the iconic door can be seen by the public as you can see from other reviewers photos. Just the gate out front. Not a loss but not what I really wanted to see.
There is really nothing to see here other than the armed guards at a gated fence. I didn’t even know it was an attraction until I asked someone why people were gathering around a gate. I would suggest not reaching into your backpack while standing...More
