Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a street in Covent Garden, connecting Long Acre, Russel Street and Wellington Street. There is a plaque on the street showing some notable former residents. The street is steeped in history and buildings here reflect architecture from the 1800's. Notable buildings here are the Royal Opera House, Bow Street Magistrates Court and Police Station.

Other reviewers have mentioned Henry Fielding's 'Bow Street Runners' and the founding of the Metropolitan Police in this area.
The Bow Street Magistrates Court and Police Station building, completed in 1881, finally closed in 2006. This is an imposing building directly opposite the Royal Opera House and it is currently having conversion work done.
The Royal Opera House itself is the most magnificent theatre in the Kingdom as far as I am concerned (I may be slightly biased as I have attended hundreds of performances of opera here) and stands comparison with any theatre anywhere. I have reviewed it separately. To get the best view of its 1858 frontage, cross the road to the pedestrianized Broad Court where you will also find 'The Dancer', a sculpture by Enzo Plazotta.
Bow Street runs from Long Acre in the north to Wellington Street in the south. There are several inns and restaurants on the street, which is on the edge of Covent Garden (not at its 'heart', as the 20 November 2014 reviewer states, but then some prolific reviewers would post a review of a new anthill in London if they could find a listing for it. At least I have properly visited everything I review.)

We stumbled across bow street. So glad we did. Charming with loads of eating places. We saw a sign for a church and super food (and more importantly…. No massive queues!!)

One of London’s more important streets. Just at the top end on opposite and corner sites are the now disused Bow Street Magistrates’ Court famous for its role in the evolution and dramas of English criminal enforcement, and the grand and skilfully extended complex of the Royal Opera House. Don’t miss the twisty high up glass link bridge over (?) Floral Street. The old court is currently busy with a conservation demolition and creative team working on the project turning the building (closed as a court after 266 years) into a boutique hotel and police museum.

Bow Street is a road to the edge of Covent Garden, connecting Long Acre, Russell Street and Wellington Street.
In my opinion there is nothing particularly special about Bow Street. It is most notably famous forThe Bow Street Magistrates Court & Bow Street runners (they were an early voluntary Policeforce)
It is also home to the famous Royal Opera House.
There are several Restaurants & pubs along Bow Street, I have on a previous visit to London eaten in the Pizza Express outlet on Bow Street & definitely had a drink or 2 in a couple of pub's in the area.

A historical street in a busy part of London, there is always some of form of construction going on which does spoil the walk; busy with works in the morning and after work, and on weekends otherwise it can be quiet.

While visiting the Covent Garden area, we took another stroll along Bow Street. We had been fascinated by this London street during a previous visit and enjoyed the opportunity to take another look.
As we are modern history buffs, it was great to be able to again view the location of the historic Bow Street police station. There are also several important public buildings situated along the street including the Royal Opera House.
If one is in need of food or drinks there are also a number of cafes, pubs and restaurants located here.
Well worth a visit by those with an interest in architecture or modern history!

We had arrived by tube at Covent Garden Underground Station with the intention of visiting Covent Garden Market and then taking a general stroll around the area.
During our walk around the area, we happened upon Bow Street. We were familiar with the street’s name for a number of reasons. These include its historic association with the Metropolitan Police Force, the existence of the Bow Street Magistrates Court which often featured in news reports in years gone by and of course, the Monopoly board game.
We therefore decided to take a walk along part of Bow Street to take in the atmosphere of the street.
Among the various interesting locations we saw was the very impressive Royal Opera House, where many performers have taken a bow on stage, over the years. We also saw the former Bow Street Magistrates Court and the Bow Street Police Station. There are also a number of restaurants, cafes and pubs located along the street.
Bow Street is well worth a visit by leisure visitors to London; it is a street where you can see some impressive architecture and soak up some of the historic atmosphere of the area.
