Just south of the Tower Bridge this area is great for photo ops. Tower Bridge, of course, is a must but there is also the mayor's office where they filmed the James Bond headquarters for film buffs. Several fancy restaurants, as well as Pizza Express which was actually a very nice Italian restaurant and not what was expected by it's... More

The minute we walk in we was treated like we was the only people in the restaurant , the staff the location and the food was excellent. The Manager Andrea was really good to all of us and the waitress was very friendly. I had the scollops which was very yummy and then the steak afterwards which was perfect. I... More

South of the river the best views and photo opportunities are actually from the river but up close there are now lots of bars and restaurants in the converted building nice place to chill out but a little pricey

Just the other side of Tower Bridge Butlers Wharf is a good place to wander. Lots of restaurants along the waterfront. Lovely views of the Bridge. A peaceful part of London now from what it must have been like in its heyday. The bridges between the buildings once a hive of activity now look very picturesque. The Design Museum right... More

Located on the south side of the river, butlers wharf was once factories serving boats on the river but is now expensive apartments. The architecture is attractive and there are nice bars and restaurants to visit. Ponte de la tour being one of my favourites. Nice to walk by on a riverside walk.

I wouldn't bother going here specially unless you want to eat and drink expensively and/or look at the close-up view of The Tower Bridge, the river traffic and the spectacularly ugly Tower Hotel opposite. Where toil and endeavour once happened, now the ostentatiously-wealthy live in overpriced 'apartments'. Butler's Wharf was a large warehouse complex where goods would be unloaded in... More

I never knew about the existence of this area and wish I had known earlier. There is a place to hang out right by Tower Bridge without going to all the normal tourist traps. The buildings in the area are different and unusual - a nice way to look at what London was I guess. There are some shops to... More

Butler's Wharf is a great example of how industrial London looked at the end of the Victorian era. It sits at the southern end of Tower Bridge with the Thames riverside path on one side and the cobbled pedestrianised Shad Thames on the other. The building is Grade II listed and was built in the 1870's. Originally it formed part... More

Leaving the south end of Tower Bridge, head down the steps and east, down a little alley and there you are on the river front with handy collection of places to eat and drink, all with great outdoor space with the bridge as the backdrop.
