Modern design ,well turned out young staff but premium priced drinks . If it is a foggy or gloomy day most of the point of going disappears (literally). Here the view is the thing.

So the terrace at the top was practically deserted on Boxing Day. It's particularly impressive at night when the stairs are lit up. Wonderful views of the city for free!

We had an informal meeting at EAT at One New Change. The centre is really clean with a vast array of shops and restaurants. It's also a stones throw from St Paul's tube station which is extremely handy.

The view from the 6th floor of the One New Change shopping centre is fabulous and it is free. You can take the very quick lift directly there and there are some places to sit down there if you want to take in the view of St Paul's cathedral. The shopping centre is nice - it has plenty of restaurants,... More

Take the lift in this shopping mall near St Paul's and get great views over central London for free. At the top there are bars and restaurants, so you can sit and relax and enjoy the views, especially of St Pauls.

Came across this little gem by accident. Up the lift floor 6 and the views are spectacular. We stayed for the afternoon. Drinking wine outside under the heaters. Beautiful.

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
