Racist Staff I am coloured.. Please note this incident happened in May 2016, but there is no "when did you go" tab for it. I arrived early to the venue and saw a few people going into the theatre. The two men at the door were polite and allowed them into the theatre without any problems. All six people allowed in were white and did not have their bags checked. When I approached, the staff (who happened to be white) they asked me to unzip my bag and turn out my pockets. After they made a thorough examination of my bags and searched my pockets they allowed me in but told me to wait in the foyer and not to wander round the theatre. I was watching the two men from the window and noticed they allowed every single person in ( all of whom were white, into the theatre without any checks whatsoever. I phoned up the manager the next day to complain and explained the situation without embellishing and the manager, a woman, mocked me by making a childish whiny sound and put the phone down. I had no idea one of the great institutions in the UK,employed racist staff and managers.

Fantastic show, amazing roles for Theo James, Hadley Fraser and Rosalie Craig, all very strong performances. Show was funny and the musical score complimented the actors voices superbly. Would recommend it to everyone.

We decided on a recent trip to London to fit in a comedy show. As a West Brom football supporter I was attracted to seeing Frank Skinner, who apart from his comedy is well known in footballing circles to be a "Baggie". The show began with a twenty five minute warm up by a very funny South African comic, the Frank followed on and did a full ninety minutes of funny material. Well, that was until he noted that someone on the front row was recording the show. In a very controlled way Frank took them to task, and carried on. Remarkably a few minutes later, he realised he was still being recorded! Unbelievable. He went ballistic, still in a controlled manner, but clearly it tarnished the night for Frank and the rest of the audience. The audience were calling for them to be thrown out! After the show, it looked as if the theatre personnel were taking over and deleting the recording. Comedians have their own material and there is every possibility that Franks show would have appeared on U tube the very next day. Well done to Frank and the theatre team, but shame on the idiots who put a damper the evening for a theatre full of people.

What a lovely theatre! My first visit & I can honestly say it was clean, tidy, with good facilities and polite staff. A real gem from the past which happily is still going strong today.
