About
Jason's Trip is the original Regent's Canal tour and has been operating since 1951. Jason is an authentic 100+ year-old canal boat which was originally used as a cargo-vessel on the canals before being fitted with a diesel engine and converted to passenger-carrying duties. The tour runs between Little Venice and Camden lock. It takes about forty-five minutes. On the trip from Little Venice up to Camden there is a live commentary from our trained guides who will tell you all about the canal's history from 1800 to the present day. There is no commentary on the Camden to Little Venice trips.

We traveled from Little Venice to Camden with Jason's Trip, and the captain and the guide were both very nice men and we felt very well taken care of.
We went on a thursday afternoon and we hadn't booked in advance, because we were originally planning to walk the Regent's canal to Camden, but then we decided to take the canal boat instead.
But I would recommend booking a place in advance if this is a trip you are planning to do to secure a place so you are not disappointed about not getting a seat. These canal boats can often be full.
We absolutely loved this trip. It was a great experience and a trip we could actually repeat several times just because it was so peaceful and lovely. Our teenage boys also thought that this boat trip was top notch, and that the guide was interesting and exciting to listen to with everything he could tell us about the canal and its history. We highly recommend this trip. Little Venice is also a lovely gem in London, and Camden really is a lively and exciting place.

The 45 minute route to Camden on the Regent canal is absolutely lovely. When we visited it was almost too hot, so to sit down, get some breeze and see a whole new part of London was so much nicer than to walk around in the more crowded places.
It is reasonably priced. Booking in advance is recommended. Then you know you will get a place and you can board first. Nice activity for all ages.

We were very excited to take this trip, but from the beginning, the woman leading the trip, zapped all the fun out of it. She has all these rules that she assumes you should know. You have to be completely silent and all it is, is listening to the tour guide basically have a conversation with herself. No questions could be ask, until we were off the boat. The ride itself, was a nice break from the big city. You get off the boat by the Camden Road area, which was a lively place full of music and food. As adults, we don’t have to be treated like we’re on field trip to a library, where silence is required. I would have preferred a headset to listen to the tour. We’re hoping to do a trip by canal boat in the future and that is why we thought this would be fun.

okay boat ride from little venice to camden. lucky i prebook a seat because it was a pretty full boat (not sure is it due to it being a saturday).

but i wish the guide's volume could have been a little bit louder (not the guide's problem to be honest), because some other inconsiderate passengers that were seated in front of me and by the side kept on chit-chatting and i couldn't really hear some of the commentary due to their chatter.

please prebook a seat for people who really wanna take the boat ride.

We did the travel back to Little Venice from Camden. Even if it was not in schedule, Sara was incredibly nice telling us the story of London. So nice trip. Really recommended.

Travelled in July on the 45 minute trip from Little Venice back to Camden where we were staying. Both the guys organising the trip were friendly and organised and everything was on time.Honestly loved every minute, it was a lovely sunny day and really relaxing, some parts pretty, some not so much but all fascinating. The tour guide on the boat was very informative but quite chilled, so his commentary was really interesting but not too intrusive. Highly recommend :)

Was a nice ride, tour guy just wanted complete silence. Couldn’t talk, when we was talking the guy with mumble bloody he’ll be quite under his breath it was like he was trying to control a bunch of children. Very nice ride to just sit and be quiet and enjoy view. The views are not even amazing very dirty with rats and graffiti everywhere.

A great experience for those that like silence and are not looking for any fun at all in any way!

I planned this experience for my birthday and I must say booking was simplistic - buzz over a quick email and you will receive a speedy reply, with no need to pay in advance. We arrived from Warwick Avenue tube and it was a pleasant walk to cross the river. Upon arrival the chap told us we could bring drinks onto the boat so, we descended upon the local booze who provided us plastic cups and we were all set.
Once onboard we settled up the reasonable charge of £15 each only then to be warned that this was NOT a party boat...
We sat at the front quickly making friends with the other passenger and once we had set sail the commentary began. We were all talking about the things the skipper had to say and commenting with enthusiasm about the sights when we realised how much of a fun sponge the skipper was!
He walked up with his mike and stood next to us in disapproval until we were all but silent!
We watched as boat after boat whizzed past full of fun and frivolity whilst we kept up our sombre states.
Eventually upon arrival at Camden Lock, we were revived by the thronging tenor and vivacious colours and tantalising aromas and left the fun hoover for dust!

Jason's Trip was an easy walk from Paddington Station. The boat ride to Camden Market was both relaxing and informative. The boat was comfortable, and the tour route was attractive. You really don't realize that you are in the middle of London while taking this 45 minute trip.
