Join me, Stephen Burstin, for a fascinating experience that delights both Jewish and non-Jewish visitors to London as well as locals. Click on Website (in blue above here) and see the highlights of my various tours, each one informative and entertaining for all ages from my tours in the Old Jewish Quarter of London's East End which reveal the incredible story of the Jewish community to my exciting tours featuring London's famous landmarks (with Jewish connections too) such as Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, Houses of Parliament etc. There's also fabulous Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle. As a tour guide for 25 years, I delight in sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for London, especially its Jewish heritage.

The tour given by Stephen was extremely interesting and enjoyable. Stephen interjected his personal experiences and research to make the tour very informative. I would recommend Stephen for any tour that he gives and it is my intentions to contact him when I return to London.

our family took a private walking tour with Stephen who was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. He provided us with a good sense of history of the Jewish diaspora in London and their complicated relationship with the majority population. We saw quite a bit of East London and truly appreciated his unique perspective of someone who has a... More

Steven was charming and allowed us all a chance to drift in and out of his brilliant historical journey around the old East End, where our forefathers came to be as Jewish Immigrants. So much has been lost over the last 100 or more years and so we were able to gather many insights and different perspectives on London's Jews,... More

Really enjoyed this tour with Stephen. He was jovial and friendly and had researched his subject very well, thereby able to give a broader overview of migration history into London and the rich tapestry of cultural influences that now exist in the city as a consequence. The tour was well paced and thoroughly enjoyable- I'll probably do it again sometime.... More

My friend and I did a private tour with Stephen. We did have some time constraints because we were leaving for the airport that day, so Stephen compressed the tour a bit. We met outside Aldgate station and walked the areas of East London where Jews used to live, very much like the Lower East Side of New York. Stephen... More

We joined one of the public walking tours held on Sunday mornings - we met Stephen at 10.15 am at Aldgate Station and the tour was due to last about 2 1/2 hours. Stephen is a very enthusiastic tour guide and happy to answer questions from the group (there were about 15 of us) at any point. The tour cost... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
