Join me, Stephen Burstin, for a fascinating experience that delights both Jewish and non-Jewish visitors to London as well as locals. Click on Website (in blue above here) and see the highlights of my various tours, each one informative and entertaining for all ages from my tours in the Old Jewish Quarter of London's East End which reveal the incredible story of the Jewish community to my exciting tours featuring London's famous landmarks (with Jewish connections too) such as Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, Houses of Parliament etc. There's also fabulous Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle. As a tour guide for 25 years, I delight in sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for London, especially its Jewish heritage.

London has fascinating history connected to its Jewish minority. Connected to PM Disraeli, sir Moses Montefiore or old colorful East End as well as to children's transports memorized on Liverpool Station there is so much to learn and still a lot to see you wont't be disappointed!

We toured with Stephen through Hampton court and then to the old Jewish quarter in London. Both tours were extremely interesting and kept the attention of our young teens, young adult children and us parents too. Stephen has great stories and really focuses on interesting facts. He supplements the tour with a notebook full of fun facts and great photos.... More

Steven's tour was not only fantastically well-informed, but his entertaining and personal style made it doubly enjoyable. My husband and I had a private tour because none of the group tours were being offered on the dates we were in London. It was worth every penny and more! We had a blast, and had Steven not had another tour would... More

We contacted Stephen to arrange a tour for our family in London. We were looking for something to do on Christmas Day as everything is shut down tight and figured this would be a wonderful way to see the city and learn a little bit about the history of London from a Jewish perspective. We booked the Grand Tour Extravaganza... More

I and my husband joined this tour at the end of November 2016. We're not Jewish but you really don't need to be to enjoy this wonderful survey of Jewish London. Highlights for me were the Bevis Marks Synagogue, an elegant 17th century building designed by a Quaker architect and with strong links to the Amsterdam Jewish community, and the... More

The only thing wrong with the tour was the weather. It was toooo cold. We loved the tour. Interesting, well researched and well organized. Recommend to all.

Stephen gave us an incredibly interesting tour, complete with amusing anecdotes and landmarks we would never have noticed without his guidance. Enjoyable and interesting, a Sunday morning well-spent.

This was a wonderful experience and I was glad that I was finally able to join one of Stephen's tours. Very easy for a solo traveler and even in November, it's an easy few hours and a very rewarding experience.

The tour given by Stephen was extremely interesting and enjoyable. Stephen interjected his personal experiences and research to make the tour very informative. I would recommend Stephen for any tour that he gives and it is my intentions to contact him when I return to London.

our family took a private walking tour with Stephen who was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. He provided us with a good sense of history of the Jewish diaspora in London and their complicated relationship with the majority population. We saw quite a bit of East London and truly appreciated his unique perspective of someone who has a... More

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
