I used the DLR to get from my hotel in Canning Town to Excel, this took 5minutes, meant I could pay with touch pay and got a great view out of the window over the banks of Thames, the Emirates Air Line and the O2.

We invested in Oyster cards years ago and have never regretted it. Everywhere needs to pour money into public transport, tax private car owners (and I’m one) to subsidise public transport which ideally should be free. The DLR is more like a theme park ride...More

Great system to get from dock lands to the city. Comfortable ride in clean carriages. Just remember the long walk at bank.

If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a
grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to

Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square,
and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham
Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just
up the road as well. As captivating as the
architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are
