Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Matt arranged a tour of Great Fire related sites for a group of six 7 year olds plus parents. He managed to keep it engaging and relevant with enough activities to keep them all enthused throughout, even though it was a long walk. I couldn’t recommend Matt highly enough.

Our office is located close to Smithfield market, and I realised few of us know anything about the history of the area. I have then decided to organise a guided tour for my colleagues, and it happened so that Matt was our guide. What can I say? We started at 6:30am, and 10min in we were all wide awake and immersed into the tour. Matt is hugely knowledgeable and passionate about the history of London which he presents with picturesque facts and vivid descriptions linking past and present. Often morbid historical facts become less gloomy thanks to Matt's great sense of humour. During his tour it was truly possible to imagine what London and especially Smithfield market area looked like centuries ago.

Matt is an excellent guide - a great storyteller, well-informed and very considerate. His love for history and for people’s stories shone through this tour.

Matt took several of us around the colleges and backstreets of Cambridge for a guided tour like none other. He had worked hard to learn some fascinating facts about both the City and the colleges and blended in interesting tales from his own personal experience. He judged the clients perfectly: allowing enough freedom to question and to chat whilst keeping a sense of purpose and direction to the tour. His is charming and personable tour guide: I’d highly recommend to others who want to explore a City further with an experienced guide. Thank you Matt!

As one of a group of friends, Matt led us on a fascinating tour of some of the undiscovered corners of London, and managed to throw in a little bit of something for everyone from historic sites, to film set venues and a rooftop coffee stop at the end. He is a knowledgeable, charming and entertaining guide, I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to uncover hidden London.

Matt is the best blue badge tour guide you could ever wish for. We had the most enjoyable afternoon and learnt so much whilst enjoying seeing different parts of London through completely fresh eyes and topped off by St Paul’s and an amazing roof top bar

My husband and I recently attended the Smithfield Market tour run by Matt. Other than the very early start (!) it was a fascinating glimpse into a world we know little about. Matt grew up on a farm, and he was able to use his vast knowledge base to explain how these critters go from farm to our plate via this incredible collection of butchers.

Matt has obviously built up a rapport with some of the butchers at Smithfield so they were happy to show us how they carve, craft and even store meet. All the while the rapid pace of market life swirls around you,.

And the best comes at the end. We had a chance to have breakfast with Matt and pick his brain further about how these markets work.

Matt's very early morning tour of Smithfield was fascinating. I know London very well, but he told us so many interesting facts that I had not heard about before. He is very knowledgeable, fascinating and very funny. I would highly recommend his tours.
