Thought I’d give floatworks a go, while undertaking other well-being sessions, following a pretty bad time after my dads passing and a car accident. Figured this could be both the mental and physical rehab necessary, so gave it a try.
The first session in Vauxhall was great, it was a morning session and therefore not busy so nice and quiet, I went into some kind of meditation I hadn’t felt or experienced before and felt very chilled out after. The girl on that day was also super friendly and nice and left the tank on a bit longer due as it took me a while to shower etc in my slightly less than awake state! Who knows though, I was a little hungover, so maybe it was just last nights session still in my system…. as I didn’t feel like that the second time. Tea selection and books are also fab.
Second time I went after work and it was noisy, you can hear people walking above you quite heavy footed. Therefore I couldn’t relax or switch off, as all I could hear was what I presume staff running about cleaning. Therefore I would not recommend an evening float.
Finally, make sure you check the 3 month expiration period when you buy a pack of floats. You wouldn’t think the expiration period was so short for an item like this. It’s not a gym membership or personal training session that you’d typically use weekly. You don’t always go to floats frequently as you have to be in the right headspace to fully reap the benefits.
I was a few weeks out and just got a blanket no, and no reply to my email saying it was a shame as I was only a few weeks over the expiry date. Some flex on this could have been seen as good customer service, or at least a reduced rate. Alas money prevails. A shame, as I wanted to see if it really does give meditative benefits by trying a third time. But frankly, I refuse to fork out more, for such little flex.

Vauxhall Branch 👌🏽
I suffer from claustrophobia so I was very anxious about closing myself in the pod.
I asked whether is was okay to keep it open but was advised that I will not experience the sensational benefits of the atmosphere, sound, lights and temperature. If I can do it you can.
It was amazing! I totally relaxed and it felt as if i was having an out of body experience. The floating makes you feel like you are rotating slightly whilst you are still. It’s really a nice feeling.
I drifted off the sleep and it felt like high heaven. I was woken by music which indicated that my time was up. Wish I could have stayed longer. Staff were absolutely lovely and so friendly. Great experience from start to finish!! Thank you floatworks. Highly recommend!!

The staff were super helpful and knowledgeable. The whole environment is relaxing and that’s before getting in the pod!

The staff are super helpful and friendly, they are always very welcoming and there is such a lovely calm atmosphere from the minute you arrive.
I had my first float back in January 2020 and have been sad to miss out during the various lockdowns. Now that it’s back open I’m getting back into heading there to switch off, rest and relax.
Knowing that you have a precious 60 mins to yourself away from all distractions is wonderful.
I leave feeling both relaxed and energised.
Love floating - love floatworks.

Took my boyfriend there for his birthday and he absolutely loved it. He has adhd and it helped him shut off and relax for the hour. Will definitely make this a regular thing.

Totally love Floatworks. The staff are really helpful, efficient and friendly, the place is clean and fresh with a tranquil chill-out room, and floating is the most relaxing, meditative form of relaxation and inner exploration I know. Just lovely.

The perfect place to just get away from it all and truly relax. It took me a few floats to try and get my brain to realise it is okay not to think all the time! Now I wouldn't be without my little tranquil escapes.

Booked for me and a friend as a birthday treat to her and we loved it. Super relaxing and soothing - something I'd definitely recommend trying for yourself. The pods open manually so no need to fear getting stuck inside, and if claustrophobic, you can leave the lid open if you'd like to. The staff were great (I visited the Angel branch) and explained everything brilliantly. Also, the facilities to shower, moisturise, dry your hair, etc. were fab too. Didn't need to bring anything along!

The perfect timeout from the hustle and bustle of city life - an hour of relaxation and sensory deprivation allowing you the time and space to relax, refocus and reset before venturing back out into the world at large!

Floatworks (Angel) is an oasis of calm in the middle of Islington. The staff are friendly, the place is clean and modern. The float room is spacious and the shower modern and efficient. The float pod is large enough to float without feeling too enclosed. The water's just the right temperature and I drift off into semi-consciousness and come out relaxed and calmed.

£55 for a single session, £180 for 4 floats, or £40 monthly membership which gives you a float each month, and many other benefits!
Hello, can you do this if you are pregnant? I am 25 weeks but am not sure how warm/ hot the tanks are?

absolutely yes! you may feel a little uncomfortable for the first few minutes, that's just your body relaxing - I get that in my shoulders - but persevere, it's worth it. You'll benefit from going more than just once, if you can then go at least every couple of months and you'll feel a difference.

Visit their website for offers - about £50 - but so worth it for an hour in the tank and then refreshments and chill time.
