It is a bit out of the way to fit into a schedule of visiting London proper, but it is well worth the detour to see remarkably well preserved church and church grounds in an area where urban development could easily have gobbled up much of the wonderfully open space, formerly the cemetery but now punctuated by just a couple... More

Founded 954 AD 13th C Sanctuary 14th C Nave 15th C Tower Well worth a visit, open most weekdays, guide books available at the back

I came to visit this church as my parents were married here in 1940. The building is wonderful and has a very long history. There are some beautiful memorials in the church and some fantastic gargoyles on the outside. A visit to this church is a must for anybody who is interested in churches or the history of the East... More
