A good experience spoiled by the failure of the instructor to explain how any of the controls worked. I was given the yoke to contol which enabled me to control elevation and banking. Rudder pedals were non-functional. None of the other controls were explained (eg throttle, artificial horizon etc.) I would have liked to have had 10 minutes explanation even if the instructor felt it was too much for me to control other functions. My hour focused on landing at various airports of my choice, which although exciting did not give me a true experience of what it might be like to fly a 737. Perhaps the owners should give clients the option to maybe fly into 1 airport only but learn more about controlling the aircraft?

Good Day Andy, Many thanks for your feedback. We are sorry that you felt disappointed with your visit to UFLY737. We have taken on board your comments and will ensure that all customers are fully explained the controls ahead of flight by all instructors to ensure a more in depth experience. My colleague Alec will also be in touch with you via email to further discuss this matter. Best Regards,

I highly recommend this for anyone who hasn't been in a flight simulator before – it’s fun, safe and the time will literally fly by. My wife bought this session for me as a gift for my 50-something birthday this year. She thought it would be an interesting, if a bit off the wall gift for me and as it turned out it was an inspired choice. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and educational experience - my first time in a flight simulator, or indeed in anything resembling an aircraft cockpit so I didn't know what to expect. I am a nervous flyer but as an engineer I love aircraft and everything to do with flight. The team tailored their explanations of the flight controls to my limited level of knowledge of flying and they made the whole experience interesting and fun. I had expressed an interest in Houston as I fly there regularly and to my surprise the team had installed the Houston airport configuration just for me. After an initial sense of being overwhelmed by lots of knobs, switches, dials and levers everywhere and colourful if puzzling flight control monitors, Mark's patient explanation and demonstrations soon had me controlling the aircraft with a surprising level of competence (i.e. I didn't crash it) and I actually landed it more or less first time which made me feel great. After a few successful takeoffs and landings we cruised above the Austrian Alps enjoying the scenery projected in front of the simulator which responded very realistically to every movement of controls. Great fun! The team obviously love what they do, their enthusiasm is infectious and they made it a very personal experience tailored just for me as a total novice. They are very knowledgeable about aviation in general and answered all my questions in an engaging way. My wife was able to share the experience with me so this is a great gift for any family member, younger or older. And I have recommended ufly737 to my employer for our company rewards catalogue and I am planning to go again. Forget the theatre tickets, go fly a 737 for an hour or so.

This was a great experience for an afternoon and a real treat for any aviation enthusiasts out there. Great for a present or just for an afternoon out with a friend. We found UFly737 via a LivingSocial voucher deal and it was a great buy for some hours in the simulator. Mark, who is the owner, was super helpful and flexible in making the dates and timing work, including coming in on a Sunday. It was a casual atmosphere and a great briefing to get some good flying time in the simulator. The simulator is stationary - doesn't move, but has all the graphics, controls, lights, sounds and everything you'd expect to find in a simulator. It is a 737-900. Mark put the simulator together himself and spent a lot of time and detail in preparing it. We started off with a briefing on all the basics in the cockpit and we flew some take-offs from Heathrow, landing in Paris and even a tricky approach into old HKG Kai Tak. We even had electronic maps on Mark's IPAD, heading and coordinates to make it more realistic. The simulator is based in West London - an easy Tube ride from Central London and not too far from Heathrow either. The simulator and UFly are within a shared office complex. You have total privacy as you fly (or crash) the plane as there are not people watching or milling about as you have for simulator companies at a shopping mall. It's just you, Mark and whoever you might bring. It was a great and affordable experience and I really recommend it to anyone who has ever been interested in flying or who wants to have a go in simulator.
