Visitors to London are astonished at the amount of green space in the city, compared say to New York, and Wimbledon and Putney Commons are a major green asset to this part of London At the heart of Wimbledon Common is the early 19th century windmill, which sadly lost its sails in a storm and it doesn't look like they... The Windmill and the Common are great places to visit for beautiful parkland. Ponds and the sweet museum at the Windmill. The cafe next door is terrible. Awful service and fairly dire food. Chips twice cooked and left to cool. Overpriced undercooked baguettes. The opposite of service with a smile and they don't really welcome kids, which is a shame... More

I love Wimbledon Common and the Wimbledon windmill museum. On the common, you can walk from for hours from Wimbledon Village to Putney Heath, to Roehampton and down to the A3 and in to Richmond Park. There are more than five large ponds, that I know about and maybe more. The Windmill has a large car park and the windmill... More

How many of us have lived in Wimbledon for years and have never visited the Windmill Museum? Lots of us, I suspect, despite walking on the Common umpteen times. The door is small and set back from the path, so you have to make the effort to investigate, but what a surprise! It's full of stuff on the history and... More

Having only 'discovered' this attraction six days ago whilst seeking a family meeting point, this museum was a very pleasant surprise. It's cheap. It's very well presented ... and fascinating. I never knew how ignorant I was of windmills and their history. We were accompanied by two of our grandchildren (aged 6 and 4, boy and girl), and they were... More

I came with my daugther. Windmill is historical place, small. It kept my daugther busy for 15-20mins. It is worth to visit when one lives in Wimbledon and has just to spend some time with family.
