Address
Neighbourhood: Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.

    Great Views of London
Very efficient entry to the viewing floors with no queues at all. Great views of London with bars on both viewing platforms. If you order a drink at the bar make sure you’re not charged the table service, we were but was taken off straight away. Toilets are worth a visit.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of The View from The Shard! We're pleased you had an enjoyable visit with amazing views across London. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Kind Regards, Guest Experience Team

Don’t miss the brilliant London experts!
The entire experience is great : the view of London is fantastic and everything is very well organised. On the top of The Shard we were welcomed by London experts Michael and Chris, who gave us a 30 min “tour” of London, pointing different buildings, bridges and areas visible from The Shard and telling us historical facts mixed with hilarious stories related to these places and people. I highly recommend it.
Thank you so much for your great review of The View from The Shard and our highly knowledgeable and fun London Experts, Chris and Michael. We hope to welcome you back again soon for more stories at the top! Kind Regards, Guest Experience Team

    Great visit
Visited whilst on a trip to London. A very good experience, especially with the excellent weather we had on the day of our visit. Great views of London and beyond from the 69th and 72nd floors. Booked tickets via Virgin Experiences and was given a 10% discount for signing up to their emails! Worth considering if not used before.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of The View from The Shard! We're pleased you had a great experience and hope to welcome you back again soon. Kind Regards, Guest Experience Team

Brilliant service, kindest waiters, spectacular views.
I went to Aqua Shard restaurant today with my 11 year old son. We received a VIP treatment. Thanks especially to Jordan and David who made us feel really special... it has honestly been one of the nicest experiences in our lives in years....
Thank you for the lovely feedback for our wonderful neighbour, Aqua Shard! Next time you visit the Shard, why not visit The View from The Shard, the highest point you can go in the building with stunning views across London! We also have a wonderful menu with creative and delicious cocktails to choose from. We hope to welcome you back again soon! Kind regards, Guest Experience Team

    Outstanding views of London
Wow what a visit, but I must say that the price is a bit steep, so for me it is a one time visit only. However, we were celebrating my birthday and what a view when you are up the top. There is a bar which also sells food at the top with a full top shelf and lots of champers! Just note that there is another level you can go up after the bar. There was a very helpful member of staff who answered questions and pointed out some of the landmarks. Also they do provide a very useful leaflet pointing out the landmarks as well. One criticism, there needs to be chairs for disabled use only, we found it difficult to find a seat and in the end a customer gave one up for us. Oh yes, and don’t forget to use the toilet, the view is stunning!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of The View from The Shard and our 'Loo with a View'! We do have seating available upon request for those less able to stand, apologies if this was not made clear to you on the day. We hope to welcome you back soon! Kind Regards, Guest Experience Team

Darshan served us throughout the evening at Hutong - the food was incredible and the service topped it off. He was a lovely server, cared for our needs and incredibly considerate, not to mention a great photographer. Thank you Darshan for your service, i hope to see you again at some point!!!!
Thank you for the lovely feedback for our neighbour Hutong. Next time you visit the Shard, why not visit our viewing gallery on Level 72, the highest point you can go in the building with stunning views across London! We hope to see you soon at The View from The Shard. Kind regards, Guest Experience Team

Friendly staff no queues worth the money
I have never felt the need to review an attraction before, but the Shard was really remarkable. If it’s your first time in London this should be first on your to do list. You can see everything! It wasn’t busy, we got what felt like a private vip tour with Michael who was fantastic. There is no time limit. My wife was quite nervous but from the moment we walked into the building all the staff made us feel welcomed and explained every step. They all seemed happy to be there. It’s always reassuring when you see the staff getting on and are friends. I didn’t catch their names but the bar staff were helpful and made us laugh. One of the other staff, Rachel took the time to talk to us about theatre shows and gave us some brilliant westend recommendations. We’re now going to take our teenage daughter to see six. We didn’t have to queue for anything - which is rare in London during august. Quite often I find other tourist attractions can feel rushed and we are just another customer to spend money. It was amazing to go somewhere as famous as the shard to feel like people actually cared about us and wanted us to enjoy ourselves. We definitely got our money worth. An experience I will always remember. Big thanks to the whole team.
Thank you for your great review of The View from The Shard and our fantastic team! We'll be sure to pass this feedback on and hope to welcome you back again soon. Kind Regards, Guest Experience Team

    Unique and awe- inspiring
Our visit to the viewing platforms was a birthday treat, and luckily we picked a very fine day. The experience is amazing, the views awesome and you are so high up everything below looks like it’s in a model of London. The trains going in and out of London Bridge, particularly reminded us of a train set! Pretty awe-inspiring views. Service at the cocktail bar was very, very good, even though drinks are a tad expensive. However, this is a unique place to have a cocktail or a glass of champagne! All the staff were very friendly and engaging, so this was a very special event.
Thank you for your great review of The View from The Shard and our fantastic team! We'll be sure to pass this feedback on and hope to welcome you back again soon. Wishing you a belated happy birthday! Kind Regards, Guest Experience Team

    Excellent experience
Myself and my wife loved our visit. We prebooked for 12.00 and arrived to a long queue but was handled really well - from moving through the line, into the lifts and up was like a really well oiled machine. Guides were great! Views superb as you'd imagine. London is brilliant at street level but the views from floor 72 of the Shard are so cool. Definitely worth a visit.
Thank you so much for your great review of The View from The Shard! We are so glad that you enjoyed our stunning views across London and entertaining guides. We hope to welcome you back soon! Kind Regards, Guest Experience Team

    Brilliant London Expert, Michael Mellor
We had travelled by coach and went in as independent visitors. The experience was greatly improved by the attention we received from Michael Mellor. He is a London guide employed there. What an amazing man! How funny and informative can one person be? He had us both in fits of laughter followed by our open mouth attention as he told stories of London! He followed us round, guided us to see certain sights and even accompanied us to the shop at the end of our visit. Bless him - he was our guardian angel ( well it was high up so maybe he could fly???) Just the sort of person we find particularly entertaining and full of knowledge. We are still raving about our visit. We are two ladies in our retirement years. What a great time - he is an asset to the SHARD.
Thank you for your great review of The View from The Shard and our fantastic London Expert, Michael! We'll be sure to pass this feedback on and hope to welcome you back again soon. Kind Regards, Guest Experience Team

We finally did it….after years of talking about visiting the Shard we had an amazing experience with some spectacular views of some great city landmarks. After a cloudy start to the day the landscape suddenly revealed itself and we were able to fully appreciate the experience. The staff were brilliant very friendly and welcoming offering us some great factual information about the Shard and the city. Whilst we were there we had an opportunity to enjoy a cheeky drink or two and sat admiring the view. We would definitely recommend a visit.

I timed my visit for sunset and got lucky; it was raining all day and cleared up for the evening. There is limited seating so be aware. The staff at the observation decks were super helpful. I believe someone named Marcus with glasses?? recommended we go to Bob Bob's for Beef Welly after and it was a stellar choice. I don't recommend the digtal photo package as it's very cheesy. There is a bar on both the upper and lower decks and the pricing was on par with my UK experience.

Absolutely amazing 😁 we have always said we would do this and finally got around to going up! Wish we had done it sooner....wow just wow. The views are incredible, the staff are amazing and it was an incredible experience. Although you book a time slot to go in, you aren't rushed at all, you can chill out and get a drink and spend as much time as you want at the top. And actually, enjoyed this way more than the London eye. Can't wait to go again 👍🏻

We were bought tickets to the View from the Shard as a Christmas present from my daughter and partner and got down to London to use it the last weekend in April.
We are regulars to London but had never been to the top of the Shard before this, but we thought it was a great evening and thing to do.
The views from the top are amazing and you've a 360° view across the whole of the city.
We booked to go early evening to watch the sunset which again was mesmerising, while we enjoyed our free cocktails, which were included with the ticket..
While looking around we were approached by The Shards London Expert - Howard. He's an absolute gentleman and spent 15 mins or more informing us about loads of interesting facts about the Shard and London in general, as I say we regularly visit London but Howard had so much Knowledge on Londons past and present and he kept us interested and amused with some of his stories.
Can't say which was the best part of the visit, the Views or talking to Howard......
If you visit say hi to him and be prepared for some interesting and funny stories.

It is worth going/booking via Virgin Experience Days, otherwise expensive. Cannot complain about the view and the opportunity to be more than 250m above the ground, this was amazing.
I cannot say the same about the staff at the bar who totally ignored me for more than 15 minutes, even if I was in front of them. I was not aware I had the option to order from the table and I went to the bar. A couple was served and I was waiting patiently for the barman to finish their cocktails. In the meantime another couple appeared and for my surprise the barman has asked them, not me, what do they want to drink. I started to believe I have become invisible but obviously I was ignored. The barman started to prepare drinks for the second couple and in the meantime another person arrived at the bar. This time a lady came to help at the bar and surprise, she asked the person near me what they want to drink. At this point I nearly lost my temper and told the lady this is unacceptable, to be basically ignored and to have to wait to be served for almost 20 minutes.
For future reference, if you want to be served, look for a table and wait for staff to take your order, otherwise you might end waiting indefinitely at the bar.

We booked a tour through Mastercard so our package included a book about the chard, photos of our day, a glass of champagne and our very own tour guide.

Howard met us with such enthusiasm and talked us through how the tour was going to work. We visited levels 69-72 where Howard gave us lots of information on the building itself and it's current uses. On the main viewing deck Howard gave us a 360° tour of London. There is nothing this man doesn't know about London. We learned so much and Howard knew the answer to all of our questions.
Howard was friendly and helpful, taking photos for us and arranging our drinks.
He even gave us a great restaurant recommendation for that evening knowing we were going to the theatre in Soho.
I would highly recommend visiting The Shard and booking the private Mastercard tour. A big thank you to Howard for being the perfect 'London Expert'.
