We skated here at the beginning of December. Getting onto the ice was chaotic and took ages (we ended up only having about 40mins of skating).
Once on the ice, it was barely possible to skate as they let far too many people on and there are lots (and lots) of children wielding their stability penguins around the rink.
Not enjoyable but at least the rink is covered from the elements.

Horrible experience, so many people were allowed to go on ice rink. It was a struggle to skate and because of that there were two injuries on the rink. Also so overpriced.
Never going back there again.

Absolutely no expert on ice quality but it was not good. A busy Sunday lunchtime session, near max capacity but okay. Service okay, lockers were limited and ate £1 coin before using it. Would recommend getting their early as stated…

Just too busy. Selling more tickets than is conducive to a good experience. Despite arriving early and being changed into our skates the session started late. Once they opened the ice it took a further 12 minutes for the queue of people to get on the ice. Once there, the ice was way too busy to skate enjoyably. Added to that, the skates aren’t great and need sharpening.
Go at a quiet time and take your own skates if you can.

I recently took 60 children to Canary Wharf Ice Rink on a school visit and cannot rate the experience highly enough. Previously we have taken children to Somerset House - which is nowhere near the standard of this.
The rink is huge, instructors friendly, caring and funny with the children and the visit was flawless. We had the entire thing to ourselves for 2 hours and it is absolutely a trip that the children will never forget.

Very poor service, found it uncomfortable to be there. Too many people on the slot,it was too crowded on the ice! You have to queue up to get on ice for 15min approx so you only get 30min to ice skate. No toilets on premises, have to walk around the building to find one toilet and it was out of service!!Very bad because you have nowhere to go. Had to ask for permission at the restaurant next door if I may use their bathroom! I won’t be going back there

Terrible, perilous experience right from the start. Half the lockers weren't working and as we were waiting to get a replacement token from a member of staff who left the check in desk, we watched some people walk straight through without having their ticket scanned, making a mockery of purchasing a ticket. The boot room was chaotic and the skates were hard unforgiving plastic. Clearly the ticket numbers are not limited and subsequently, due to this greed, the rink was overcrowded and frankly dangerous. Unlike the better organised rinks in London, there was no separate skating area for small children with penguin aids so it was survival of the fittest. We did a couple of laps around the edge, watched the chaos, cut our losses and left. The final nail in the coffin was the disinterested member of staff who couldn't find my shoes on returning my skates, half heartedly looking for them whilst checking his phone. So if nothing says Christmas to you like listening to 50 cent rapping something loud and jarring over the speaker whilst you try not to take down small children wobbling like lambs to the slaughter in your path, you'll love it. For those who prefer the warm, festive, family experience with Christmas music and a modicum of organisation, stick to Somerset House. That's where we'll be next year. Merry Christmas.

Haven’t been to an ice rink in ages and this one was good as any! Staff were super friendly and polite, so I’d definitely come again as ice skating is a favourite activity right next to bowling.

Well worth the visit as there is a shelter from the rain and music to vibe too while going around. Staff were friendly, spoke to Ben on the ice who was super helpful.

Do you need to book the ticket online before the session?

Hi Eliska, thanks for your question. We do advise pre-booking peak sessions - especially during December - to avoid disappointment.
Can one go just observe, not skate?

Yes you can observe and not skate. There is a nice bar there and also an outside area where you can take photos and skate. They also sell waffles outside, which smell delicious. The venue is really nice.

Hi!
I'm glad you and your daughters had such a great time with us and I'll be sure to pass on your thanks to our stewards.
In regards to your question, we have a number of party stewards on site, so not all of them will be working at any one time. Unfortunately this means we don't know if the same people will be available on your daughters birthday. All of our stewards are fantastic, however, so you can rest assured that your experience will be great no matter what!
All the best,
IRCW

do we have to book
IceRinkCanaryWharf
London, UK1 contribution
Hi Sarah, you do not necessarily have to book in advance in order to skate! Tickets can be bought at the venue from our box office when you arrive.
However, for busier "peak-time" sessions, we recommend booking beforehand as there may be queues, or the possibility of a fully booked time slot.
All the best,
IRCW
