Sorry to be so slow. I am only lately really getting into Trip Advisor. We tend to hire a private guide. In our younger years we would take group tours but found that we frequently wound up spending time in places we had no interest in. A private guide is expensive but one can tailor the trip to one's personal interests. You've probably already been to London. I apologize for my tardiness.

Hi there! Yes - depending on the sites we can usually bipass the lines, organise fast track tickets or obtain special access. This is not the case for every single site however - some places we would visit at the quietest time of day. Not cheap, billed in pounds sterling (no symbol on my keybroad), and I didn't even look to see how much the total was in $ (minus 1/2 because we shared it with my brother and his wife), but you are buying a concentrate--after reading much advise about seeing London, I concluded that if we stayed there a week on our own we would not see and hear all that we would in 2 days with a guide and driver--he gushed information constantly and enthusiastically--which was also worth a lot!
