- Angela10 contributionsGreat theatreFabulous theatre and amazing show! Went to see The Ocean at the End of the Lane, based on a Neil Gaiman book. The show was so well staged that I can thoroughly recommend it. The staff were very conscientious - even during the show they were very evident and ensuring people's safety. I also think one staff member got some water for a man that was coughing a lot, which is definitely above and beyond! (I don't know for sure as he was behind me, but she spoke to him, left, and came back with something for him).Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 19 October 2023

The staff were all lovely and the theatre was gorgeous. The Ocean at the End of the Lane brought me to tears, it was so well done. If it comes back and you have a chance to watch it, please go see it.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 6 December 2023
- samoruk65128 contributionsMotive and the Cue - Fantastic ProductionWe went to see The Motive and the Cue. Mark Gatiss played Sir John Gielgud and was amazing, great performance, visibly and vocally he was very believable. Big shout out to Johnny Flynn who plays Richard Burton. His performance and his energy and passion really showed what an incredible actor he is and one I shall be watching.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 January 2024

A great adaptation and a very well acted performance by all the cast. A massive thank you to the theater for upgrading our seats from poor view to a brilliant Royal Circle view.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 May 2024
- stephens473Nottingham, United Kingdom424 contributionsGreat VenueGreat venue , very helpful and friendly staff, plenty of places to get a drink and the toilets were spotless. Seats were very comfortable - just as well as the show was 3.5 hours long. We went to see Player Kings with Ian McKellen - outstanding performance from him and an outstanding production , definitely a must see.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 24 May 2024
- CarolineDTruro, United Kingdom300 contributionsEssential Theatre ExperienceSaw Player Kings which was superb. Theatre is old and historic and that’s also a fun part of the experience. The seats are terrible though - very hard and not much leg room. It’s a chore to get through four hours. Thought the tickets were expensive though we did have an amazing view.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 31 May 2024

Outraged. Attended DEAR EVAN HANSEN on Tuesday (17th December). I do not expect to pay substantial amounts on tickets to see a group of immature actors trying not to laugh during a key emotional part of the play. Leading man Sam Tutty showed utter disrespect for the audience who were paying his salary, his fellow actors and the authors and creators of the play. In attending theatre for some 30 years, I have never seen such a disgrace on the professional stage. What is worse, is I have now spoken to other people who saw the show on December 3 and experienced the same type of thing thing. In fairness, the show itself is great, I have previously seen it in New York, but a new London Evan would make it much better. Should be ashamed of himself.
The theatre is beautiful. One of London's finest. Stunningly maintained, and great acoustics.

My daughter and I went to see Dear Evan Hansen, had this review been based on the show it would have been given 5 stars. The show was excellent, the cast was small but they were all fabulous. The theatre is small in comparison to some but had a good atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bar area was well stocked and reasonably priced. There was hand sanitiser and staff encouraged everyone towear masks but social distancing was impossible as the seats are very close together, staircase were busy and toilet facilities are extremely small. My biggest gripe is paogood money for seats in row J-10 rows from the front so technically should have been a perfect view-it wasn’t. Unfortunately we were sat behind 2 men who were both over 6foot-we are only 5’4”/5’5”. We didn’t see the whole stage. At half time we asked if we could move to empty seats which would have cost less than half the price, and staff were very obliging. I would recommend this show but I wouldn’t pay high prices for seats.

A fantastic show “Dear Evan Hansen”. View from Grand Circle Seats was ok. However a tall person in front of us meant you had to look between them for the view. Theatre is dated like all of the London theatres we’ve visited over the years. However, staff were very polite. Standing option also available which I have not seen before. Show is a must see. Five stars mainly for show in fairness. Theatre is just a couple of minutes walk from Leicester Square and Covent Garden station. Charing Cross station is also nearby.

We enjoyed the show Dear Evan Hansen. This is a very cramped theatre so even expensive seats are tight - choose an aisle if you want a bit more leg-room. Ladies loos' are the usual nightmare and very small. The Noel bar is very pretty. Google maps sent us to the wrong location so take care when using maps to find the theatre,

Venue is amazing as was the show. Staff were very helpful. Seats are a little on the tight side for spacing and legroom but doesn't drop the scoring. Pricing is very reasonable too.
Being so close to the front definitely helped as you could see the effort and passion in the singing from Sam Tutty on his debut in the West End. An all round standing ovation for the cast at the end was well deserved x
Lovely touch on entry with the #youwillbefound light on the step.

Guys please educate your team on what a “safe” return to the theatre looks like...despite and expensive stall ticket just by me saying I had a Covid jab got me through to another line...no proof required. More shockingly I asked Robert the supervisor if I could move to an edge seat having had only one jab and being like a sardine in my seat. Despite empty seating he did NOTHING to accommodate kept saying people might join late what even half way through the second half of the show? A really shocking experience that I intend to log formally anyway. The performance of 222 was awesome sadly someone like Robert impacts enjoyment myself and other clients were astonished when he said my name is “supervisor” that is my name. Seriously please get your act together if you want to make this a success. Front of house are so important!

Every seat was booked. There was no space, no empty seats. Toilets tiny for the amount of people. I was in row G. About an hour into the show, the staff let a couple of people in late. Their seats was the row behind me right in the middle of the row, meaning everyone had to stand up to let them get to their seats while the show was going on. The man behind me went to sit back down and spilt his glass of wine all down the back of me onto the seat I was sitting on. It was awful.

Dear Evan Hansen is outstanding, one of the best musicals I've seen in a long time! The story is heartbreaking and thought provoking, I was crying on and off throughout the show. It's relatable, modern and very true of events happening today. The music is amazing, the actors are outstanding, I could go on with the praise for this musical! I would encourage everyone to go and see it, I would love to see it again!

Incredible show that every teen should see - especially if prone to jumping to judgement. A beautiful story brilliantly played. Some seats are cramped but that's old theatres for you - this though is a modern show you should make room for!

Most venues in the US have very specific bag/ personalized item policies . Are there any specifications at this theater for the type or size of purse you can bring in? (I.e. clear , small clutch, etc)
Written 1 April 2022
No specifications at all. Take what you like. If the bag is larger than a rucksack you'll likely to be asked to put it in the cloakroom

Hi, how easy is it to herald a taxi from outside the theatre on a Friday night (without prebooking)?
Written 6 December 2019
I went on a Saturday night and outside the theatre was as busy as during the day so I didn't get a taxi I got a bus back to my hotel as this was relatively easy and cheaper.

Seating: I go to NYC plays several times/year, but have never been to the theater in London. Now we are considering going to see NIGHT OF THE IGUANA and I'm a bit afraid of the seat reviews. We typically like to get either first row in balcony or a pair of seats with an aisle. These are both possibilities for this play/theater. But I'd also like to see how to buy a "box". How do you do that? Can it be done on line or do you have to call? Can someone share their experiences with box seats? Any boxes better than others in Noel Coward? Thanks in advance for any help.
Written 27 February 2019
I don't know if any balconies are better than others, but they can certainly be booked on line

I turn 50 on the 16/02 and decided to see The Girl From The North Country. As a rule, I stay local to home...Northampton or Milton Keynes.
The reviews for the play thus far have been overwhelmingly exceptional. However, the Noel Coward Theatre itself....its old, I understand that. I’m going to be sat in the stalls, row L in the middle.
The reviews have unanimously state the seating is uncomfortable and not enough leg room.
Can’t do anything about leg room.
Those that have sat in the stalls row L... bring a cushion??
Also is the stalls tiered or all on one level ?? Is it a good seating position as the seats are mid price??
I look forward to your response.
Thanks in advance.

I believe that we were in row O or P in the stalls for the play we saw. Yes the seats are tiered and the view is fine. The seats are typical of the older London theatres and yes they can be a bit uncomfortable. Our play had a long first act - nearly one and a half hours - so was pleased when the interval came and we could stand up and walk around!
Written 14 February 2018
Can anyone tell me what the view is like from the balcony please? Or would it be a better investment to sit nearer the stage?
Written 18 December 2017
don't get aa tickets in balcony as view is terrible. went today with my daughter and left as could not see anything.

I would like to take my mum on her 90th birthday to this show and wondered if there were areas in the theatre which is easily accessible on Wednesday 1st Feb matinee?
Written 18 November 2016
The Box Seats on either side are the best for easy access and comfort. Everything else is standard theater row seating, in other words, very tight and uncomfortable. But the show was fantastic! As others have suggested call the box office and they might give you a good deal on a box.

With so many ticket agencies for theatre, can anyone offer advice on which agency (s) to use for buying tickets? Many thanks!
Written 28 October 2015
i always go online to buy it direct from the theatre but it might direct you to ATG or LoveTheatre.

How far does the Royal Circle go over the stalls at the Noel Coward Theatre in London--in terms of rows. I'm trying to compare row O in the stalls with row A in the Royal Circle--in terms of closest to the stage.
MANY THANKS!
