My word, Diarmaid really knows his stuff! Fascinating insights about London the city and Orwell the man, finishing up in one of his favourite watering holes for a drink with our tour guide. Diarmaid encourages questions and is incredibly knowledgeable about Orwell, his work, and his politics. Particularly interesting were the sources of inspiration for 1984 lurking in perfectly innocent... More

Brilliant! A good walk and so informative about Orwell. Also met some really friendly people with similar interests. And the walk finished with a chat in the pub.

This was a very interesting walk through the streets of central London giving a very good insight in the life and work of George Orwell. It was London as i had never seen it before. Diarmaid Ward's walk was very friendly and well organised. The walk takes you to places that Orwell used as inspiration for his work and where... More

Great thought-provoking walk. Diarmaid gave the group a good insight into what George Orwell's life was like and where he got his inspiration from. We walk so often in London streets without stopping and looking around and thinking about the history and the people who lived here. I liked the idea reading short sections of Orwell's books. The walk was... More

A really interesting walk trough Orwell's novels and life. He didn't love London but this city was at the heart of his writing and he knew it.

Diarmaid's tour of Eric Blair/George Orwell-related sites in Central London is fascinating. He goes beyond the obvious and familiar to share Blair/Orwell's life as well as his writing and the era of history in which he lived. We appreciated the pub stop at the end of the walk, and have recommended the walk to friends. Double plus thank you!

A very informative and engaging walk through the heart of London. Much enjoyed the fresh perspective Diarmaid provided. I have not read Orwell since school. This walk has inspired me to revisit his books. Thank you Diarmaid.

The path of the George Orwell tour and the accompanying words/readings from expert guide Diarmaid provide much food for thought. The writing of Eric Arthur Blair - whether you've read some or not - comes alive to flesh out your perspective of London past, present and future, as well as your thoughts on life, love, freedom, power.... Great company, stimulating... More
