Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Celia is very engaging, knowledgeable and has curated a great tour that is informative, moves at a leisurely pace, and covers a great variety of what's on offer in the market. It's clear that Ceclia knows many of the stall-holders personally which gives a real insider's feel to the tour. The 10am start may seem strange, but you will appreciate it by the time the tour ends. Come hungry.

Celia's Borough Market taste tour is a great way to learn about the market, taste a great variety of foods, and meet different people. I was in a group of nine (two others from the US like myself, the rest local from the England), and you start off with a breakfast meet and greet at Mallow Restaurant (really good plant-based food) at 10am. You're then off to Borough Market (before the big crowds show up) where Celia gets you a lot of good food to taste and giving lots of information about the market history, the individual stalls, and the foods you eat. Since she's one of only two people who are licensed to give tours at Borough Market, she knows so many of the vendors very well. It was a nice way of trying a lot of foods that I don't think I would've bought if I visited the market by myself. I also thoroughly enjoyed getting to meet and talk to the folks in my group; as someone who is very shy, it definitely became easier to talk to everyone as the tour went on. If you can afford it, I highly recommend doing a tour with Celia.

This was a group of approx 10 people. Celia was a very informative and knowledgeable tour guide and gave us the opportunity to sample a wide range of food and drink from the market. We enjoyed the whole experience. As the market got busier the group got a little fragmented and it was difficult to hear Celia because of the confined space in some areas. Not sure if vegetarians would get the full benefit of this tour as there is alot of meat dishes. It was fun and we recommend.

This was our 3rd tour with the delightful Celia - postponed due to the pandemic but we opted for the Portobello Road tour.
Celia always manages to find absolute gems. Another 3 or so hours filled sampling some of the best cuisine in Portobello.
One of the beauties you get with Celia is she takes us to places we would not normally of found. They soon become part of our subsequent visits to London.
Looking forward to the next adventure with her.

We absolutely enjoyed our tour with Celia at the borough market.
Celia was a knowledgable guide and pleasant company. She takes amazing photos as well! Having been to the Borough Market many times before I still found that I learned a huge amount about the history of the and the stories behind the stalls.
Come hungry and preferably you don’t have to drive home because there will be wine! Thank you Celia for a wonderful day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Covent Garden Gastrotour with Celia. We thought we knew the area quite well, but certainly found out about new places and foods to try. Celia catered for everyone's needs and provided interesting information as we walked, both about food and the area itself.

Celia’s tour is magical. A superb walk weaving in and out of the amazing colourful shops in all of the three areas of Borough Market. Celia is a real character and very entertaining and guides you through about 30 different food and drink tastings - there were four of us so we were perhaps in a more privileged position as Celia usually takes up to 12. We had a most magnificent morning which was incredibly enjoyable and lasted well over three hours. We then went back to the market and bought a whole series of foods and a couple of books including a signed copy of Celia’s latest! Strongly recommended.

My wife and I attended this tour a week or so ago, with little or no expectations. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted, given coffee and a delicious indian thali breakfast. Celie then proceeded to talk to us about the market, after we had introduced ourselves - this talk was extremely informative and entertaining. We then went around the market, stoppoing at pre planned stalls to sample some delightful food and drinks. It was an extremly enjoyable morning and I am sure we will go again, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Celia's comprehensive, fast-paced and well organised tour of Borough Market was a wonderful way to spend a warm, bright February morning in London. Celia is engaging and has very positive relationships with traders in the market. We sampled from about 18 different stalls and venues and were made to feel no obligation to buy, although we made our way back to some of the vendors to make purchases after the tour was over. Personal highlights were the chocolate coated cobb nuts at Food and Forest, the mushroom paté at Paté Moi, the bread at Olivier's Bakery and the crumble from Humble Crumble, all stalls we probably woudn't have bothered with if we were visiting the market without Celia's guidance. We were provided with so much food we didn't need to eat anything for the rest of the day! Highly recommended.

We have been to BM loads of times eating and drinking but not knowing much about the history or the nooks and crannies where there are so many delightful craft shops and stalls.
There was 5 of us plus others making up a party of about 12. Celia was very friendly, engaging and knowledgable and led us around sampling meats, cheeses, ciders, breads, apple crumble and ending in a wine bar. The tour is 3 hours but done at a nice pace. Plenty to see and take in. A great vibe to BM and well worth doing.
