My daughter and I went to see the Frozen musical at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Unfortunately our seats had a very limited view. I asked if it was possible to pay for an upgrade and have other seats. The employee highly argued that the seats didn't have a restricted view .... which I totally disagree on. We would have to buy completely new tickets (as we had not bought the tickets directly from the theatre, but from another ticket platform - another thing to consider for future purchases!).
So, we had to go back to the dull seats.... totally hidden under the balcony😕The view was limited to less than half of the full scene. To me, that was really a disappointment 😕

So, if booking seats at this Theatre, DO NOT buy the last third of the stall seats, as you will be hidden under the balcony and your view will be very restricted.

I just really regret that we had these scruffy seats, because we missed out on a great deal of the show. We did not buy the cheapest of tickets and I therefore think that the experience should reflect this. At least the Theatre should be honest and mark these seats as restricted and as under the balcony. This was not visible in any way on the booking site. On top of this, the employee at the booking desk was not very helpfull or friendly in my opinion, even if I offered to pay for an upgrade 😕

This said... The show was amazing and the decorations and special effects were awesome 🤩Highly recommendable🤩I would go again.... but be sure to book seats

The first picture shows the view from our seats, on the second the red line indicates the missing part of the stage and the last shows the full (and must be very beautiful) view.

Afternoon Tea by Lily Vanilli at the Grand Saloon, Theatre Royal was a bitter disappointment, and I could not recommend it.

Shortly after being seated alcoholic cocktails were brought to our table, but we don't drink alcohol. Three items from the tea menu were unavailable so we had to change our order repeatedly. There was such a delay between the tea and food arriving the tea was cold, though refills were later provided after a lengthy wait. Scones and sandwiches arrived on two separate plates with cakes on a two-tiered stand, so the table was very tight for space. Everything was underbaked and stodgy. The turkey pie had a soggy bottom and contained very little turkey. The earl-grey infused crumpet had no discernable taste of earl-grey and had a soggy unpleasant texture. The savory madeline was reasonable.

The scones were an unusual triangular shape but were very flat such that we struggled to halve them. The inside was doughy and my finger left an indentation - horribly underbaked.

The cake plate included an ice-cream sandwich which was of course melted by the time we got to eating it - a very strange choice to include in an afternoon tea for this reason. The chocolate pudding with caramel popcorn was heavy and bitter. The vanilla and passionfruit cake was the best of the cakes, though it was still quiet dense in texture.

We had multiple different staff attend us, most appeared disinterested, though pleasant, and I felt unable to voice so many concerns that were certainly un-remediable at the time. A service charge of £15 as added to the bill totaling £135 for what amounted to a massively disappointing experience.

Dear Q5257RXmaryw Needless to say I was extremely disappointed to read your comments and unreservedly extend my apologies, both for the disappointing service and the quality of food. I trust you will accept my assurance that I have reviewed and discussed this matter in detail with my senior management and duty management team, to ensure that we handle this type of situation differently in the future. Despite this unhappy experience, we very much hope to discuss this further with you, if you could kindly contact me directly at the Venue. I just wanted to dedicate this review not to a particular show, but rather to the exceptional level of customer service given to us (me and my mum). Being visually impaired and my mum being my carer, the staff were extremely friendly right from the beginning, starting from the security, then the member of staff that checked our tickets - she even went that extra mile to walk us all the way to our seats, and then during the intermission; another member of staff came to see if we were alright, which was really nice, and then finally, at the end of the show, another member of staff helped us to leave via a special exit door. So we were very impressed with overall, Superb customer service. Thank you very much indeed.👨🏽‍🦯

We booked afternoon tea at the Grand Salon ….we were taken to our table and immediately told we only had the table for 1.5 hours which we were not expecting, especially when it took 20 minutes for our tea to arrive.Food came later ….three savouries three cakes and one small scone each. The quality of the food was really good but there wasn’t enough. We we’re not offered anymore food just more tea.The room was very crowded and during the service two workers came through with a ladder and went on the balcony and then a large group of people passed through …not sure who they were.Overall the place is beautiful but the afternoon tea is poor and at £132 for two we were disappointed

On a visit to London we decided to do the Theatre Royal Drury Lane tour. They go 2 a day and we picked the 10:30am tour. We were welcomed warmly and directed to a a seating area to await the start of the tour. We were lucky enough to be the only people booked on the tour, which was fantastic. The theatre has been recently renovated, to a very high standard. We were taken around by the fabulous David who told tales and provided facts. It was so interesting. We visited the Royal room and sat on the sofa that the Royal family use when they visit the theatre. We went in the auditorium, down in the tunnels under the theatre. David told us historical facts and ghost stories. The room where afternoon tea is served is lovely, next time we'll book that. I would highly recommend this as a must do if you love theatres

Prompt start. James and Lyn (tour guides) are FANTASTIC! Tour is well organised and both guides are very knowledgeable with the T/Royal history. Tour lasts about 1.5hrs and it is totally worth it! I have already recommended the tour to several friends (of all ages from teens to more mature ages). You will not be disappointed.

Disappointing. No one on the door to the tea room when we arrived so we wandered around trying to find the right way in. Nice lady escorted us to the right door. Beautiful surroundings but service very patchy overall & felt no one wanted to catch our eye. Some people were great but some seemed pure ignorant. Don’t expect to get lots of hot drinks & it seems tea cups do not come with tea spoons!
My mum & I have experienced a few afternoon teas & they are obviously trying to strike a difference but it wasn’t balanced. Interesting savoury items (no sandwiches) but the sweet items were extremely sickly and far too overwhelming. Scones were flat & more like Welsh cakes.

We had the most lovely time at afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday. Not only was the food, service, and tea excellent, but I was fortunate enough to be serenaded by Emily. She has one of the most beautiful voices we have ever heard, and it was one of the most special experiences. Thank you, all!
