Up in the lounge area is a nice relaxing 1929 period space to look at but! Down stairs in the men's sauna steam spa area it is old badly matained and messy. No reflection at all of the original intention. I'm surprised that the council haven't restored it to its original state but rather ignore its way over due restoration.... More

This is a real old fashioned English "Turkish Spa" one of the few left in London. Yes, its not the most modern of places, but for me that was part of the charm. The staff were wonderful and 28 pounds for three hours of steam, sauna, plunge pool and relaxation area is a great price. Towels are provided, two per... More

When planning my a birthday treat, Porchester Spa was on the list. There were seven of us and not one of us had been before but it was highly recommended. We checked out the reviews and photos online, so were not shocked on the state of the spa. Yes its not the high end of spas but what we got... More

I went to Porchester Spa with my boyfriend and we expected a nice Spa atmosphere. Instead we found a neglected Spa which needs a lot of renovation, however the staff were welcoming and plesent. -The swimming pool was full of noisey children and the water was not warm anough. -The facilities were old and mouldy. -There were no proper changing... I phoned to book a Turkish Bath for a ladies only day, a body scrub and a massage. I made the booking £70. I was then telephoned and told they had no towels, a fairly basic provision for a Turkish Bath where one is naked, one needs to move around in public areas where men deliver things, clean, carry items across... Porchester Spa is easy to find. Towels, lockers (20p), private cubicles & hairdryers are provided and service is lovely & helpful 💛 Only thing I would recommend is to bring your own bodywash, shampoo, conditioner &body lotion for after your shower. You can order food from the cafe (simple menu but healthy) & enjoy it in the lounge area. My husband bought... More

Having read previous reviews I almost decided not to try these baths but I am very glad I did, a treat to mark my last day working in the area. I had a Better card as I had been using the swimming pool next door every day so a day pass cost me only £20.40. I was given two towels... More

Has a rundown feel to it. Leaking wash basins so all the muck splashes on to the floor and then onto your feet.Shower cubicle doors with no handles nor hooks for towels.

I've just joined this place (probably leaving once new management starts). The staff have so far been really helpful and the facilities are very well kept. It's on the way to work so convenient, and also not overtly full of people. I'd recommend though definitely not the cheapest place to go for a gym

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
